I went to a cookout yesterday, and one of my family members, who I haven't seen for awhile has really sagging skin on her arms and neck etc. Now she is older but not that old maybe 55 or so. Anyway she has always been thin, and was always beautiful. What causes someone to become like this. Is is maybe she starved herself all those years to stay thin, and never worked out to get muscles built. She also has leathery looking skin, like maybe she tanned too much. This makes her look so much older , I felt bad for her. So is this what causes it :d_confuse

She has remained thin but has lost muscle. As we grow older and do not perform progressive reistance training, we lose muscle. It starts as early as 20 years of age, we lose 5 lbs about every 10 years of life. Someone 50 years old would have lost 15lbs and someone slim could lose form. instead of gaining fat with that loss of muscle as average person did she just cut eating, big time. That is my guess.
Suggest she start working out with weights and eating a little more, if you can.
