my left pec is more defined than my right pec and it's not too obvious but looking in the mirror i can definitely tell. i casually heard from a friend that it might be due to the fact that since my right hand is more coordinated that i use it more when doing chest excercises, therefore making my right pec not have to work so hard as my left pec. im not sure whether thats a reasonable explanation. i'm currently following schteevie's preliminary bulking routine. and that leads me to the following questions, and there's no better place to go than the js forums so

if i keep working out will it only make my chest more unequal?
will the problem fix itself if i keep working out?
if not, how can i fix the situation?

If a pic is required i can obtain one later so let me know. thanks.

If you look hard at anyone's body, even the body builders who are lauded for their symmetry, you'll notice minor variances. On those who don't belong to the genetic elite this asymmetry can be very pronounced or hardly noticable.

If there's a difference in strength between the sides then you should switch to dumbbells so that you can't compensate for the weaker side with the stronger. Your strength will even out doing this.

If there's a difference in size, but not strength, then it's just asymmetry and you shouldn't worry about it. This is especially true if the variance is not easily noticable.

There have been quite a few threads on this subject recently. I believe most everyone is one-side dominant to a certain degree. If your problem is that noticable I suggest using dumbells as opposed to barbells during chest excersise.( Hell, I suggest dumbells either way ) That should "even" em' out.

This is normal, my left pec is bigger than my right and always has been. As has already been suggested use dumbells if there is a strength difference to try and even things out.

You know I sometimes think we all compare ourselves to the fitness models on mens health and bodybuilders. In an ideal world we would all have long sweeping lats with a low insertion point and a perfect quad teardrop along with a low Arnold chest but that is not so. We don't have control over our genes but we can make what we have much bigger and more cut, that most certainly is in our grasp.
