View Full Version : So I have had enough...
TheRyanator Thu, July 28th, 2005, 04:47 PM ...fast food for the next 3 months at least. Since Tuesday I have had one cheeseburger, one whopper, a jr. bacon cheeseburger and to top it off a frosty with oreo in it. Holy Crap it sounded so good today, but I have officially had enough.
As gross as I know fast food is, I tend to crave it for a week or two every 3-6 months. Wierd :p Well anyway I am cutting it out as of now.
I will come to work with more food tomorrow so I dont run out of healthy food and decide to grab something across the street...I really think that is why I have eaten junk the last couple days...convenience and lack of planning. I am moving my office this week as well which involves more physical labor at work than normal and I think that is why I have been extra hungry. No excuses starting right now. Gotta get ready for Mexico in a week!

I hear you, brother. Lack of planning kills me! If I plan, I'm good. If not, forget it.

Joygasm. You just stated everything I've been craving for months but won't let myself have. I'll work them in, one by one over the next six weeks, but man... I logged on here just before my next meal and I am hungry... and I read this post...
Thanks, man. ;)

Brad5150 Fri, July 29th, 2005, 12:04 AM see, this is why losing fat the healthy way is the best..back when i was on low carb i was afraid a donut was gonna kill me..i still feel that way so i never eat them..
its best to plan cheat days.."accidental" gorges are horrible..just make a vow to yourself, even write it down, to say that you wont have a cheat day/cheat meal for a certain amount of time..maybe 2 months or something..because while some people can go months and months right on their schedule, some ppl need to to keep themselves sain..
seoulnewfie Fri, July 29th, 2005, 03:46 AM I am not sure if it is how I have trained my body but when I have those kind of days my body lets me know. Nothing like 10+ trips to the can the next day to remind you that your body does not need it.
Having a good plan was key for me. I bought up a cupboard full of tupperware and planned ahead.
donj02 Fri, July 29th, 2005, 07:04 AM For me a donut can kill my progress because I tend to drop back into old habits when it comes to foods like that. The last time I derailed was because I went to Krispy Kreme one day and then a couple of days later I was still craving so I went back.. did that for about 2-3 weeks and by that time I was eating out lunch everyday and whammmmm I was right back where I started. In the past I've considered my body(mind) much like a light switch, I'm either on or I'm off (plan) but I'm definetly not a dimmer switch where I can be anywhere in the middle..
TheRyanator Fri, July 29th, 2005, 09:25 AM Hey Folks. Sorry Roger, I thought about that when I started the post, I did not mean to make your cravings worse!
As for cheat days, I know all about those. I take one once a week, however it is on the weekends typically. ONe day of eating junk does not effect me too much and often times not at all. It is just the last three days of eating a burger here and there. Other than the burger I had each day my eating has been pretty healthy and I have been working out hard.
Tupperware is the best. Today I have black beans and tomatoes packed for lunch along with a coupld tortitas. I am also bringing carrots to snack on.

Is that true? do you use the bathroom more after cheat days then regular because i noticed that i rarely need to go when i'm eating healthy, but after a cheat day it's like u said 10+ trips to the can.
Pigboy Fri, July 29th, 2005, 09:48 AM I've noticed that anytime I overindulge in the fast food or other not so nutritious food now that I'm getting my body used to eating healthy it tries to "reject" it. It definitely makes the trip through the pipes in record time. To think I used to eat crap like that all the time. No wonder I look like I do..
Antimatter Fri, July 29th, 2005, 08:31 PM If I overindulge in cheat days my body lets me know the next two days by giving me pretty bad heartburn, I guess its my system being accustomed to "backing up" because of being stuffed, and it takes a day or two for it to become accustomed to the other way around again.

Very true. I am not sure how it all works but the day after a cheat I am constantly going. When I looked into it online I read that your body becomes acustomed to eating healthy food. So when you eat a lot of crap it treats it as a foreign object and rejects it ASAP! Not sure how valid this is, but it seems to tbe the case for me.
krosspyder Fri, July 29th, 2005, 09:16 PM im struggling to get myself to have a cheat meal currently... so ive just said... ah screw it.... been like this for about 3 months now.

I don't go near as much either on my normal days. I hear ya about the pizza thing.
My best friend reminded me the other day when he saw my progress pics of what I used to eat on a typical night out with him. And keep in mind this would be after eating my regular meals that day (which would usually be hamburgers, FF, bacon & eggs, pizza, etc). Large basket of wings, large FF, 15~20 beer, 6pcs KFC to end the night at about 4am.
My cheats are about once or twice a month now and are not actual days but one meal. I honestly love the food I eat. It taste great to me! But I can certainly understand what you mean about not wanting to have them. I always feel guilty the day after a cheat. But it only motivates me to work harder at the gym and pool.
cleveland Sat, July 30th, 2005, 03:36 PM I went with out a cheat meal for 3 months, then one night it happened. I was not going home, so I figured I would indulge in a chicken sandwich at Mc D's. Then I am thinking how hungry I am, so I get two. I get back to my friends house and she said, "You are going to hate yourself in the morning." Man was she right! I ate 1 1/2 sandwich and not 10 minutes later my stomach was in knots. The next day I was in the bathroom almost all day. :(
I decided that if I am going to cheat, it will not be with fast food. I can't take the "hang over" it comes with. :d_frown:
