OK- I had a week off of lifting last week. Did some cardio, played some golf, ate pretty well (though not perfectly, owing to a few (3) hot dogs over the weekend and a few dinners out with wife and friends).

Monday a.m. wighed in at 201.5.

All week- have eaten really well. Have lifted hard. Have done my cardio (2 short HIIT and 1 35 minute row). In short I've been a poster child for this week. I feel good and have upped my weights on most lifts, so I feel like the week off did me a lot of good.

This morning, pre workout, I weigh in at 203.5. I can't believe that 2 lifting sessions have added 2 lbs of lean mass. I also know that I cannot possibly have run a calorie surplus of 7,000 calories over the past 3 days.

Is this typical for a "return" week? Odd? Just noise? Not so concerned about the number, but the trend is a little confusing to me.

All comments welcome.

It's perfectly normal. I go up and down 5-8 lbs in a single day, depending on how much I've had to drink, eat, and what time of day it is.

You ever hear of water weight? http://forums.johnstonefitness.com/showthread.php?t=406

yep. I have heard of such a thing. Just an odd trend for me given the workouts. . .I've gone 7 or 8 lbs in a day as well.

It's weird to go to bed at 206 and wake up at 201. . .
