I've beening going to the gym for a few weeks now. I'm starting to get the hang of everything, and that I want to keep going. :db:
The first few times I met with a trainer, and she gave me some exercises to start off with. Mainly chest and arm stuff. Here is a list, the names in brackets are from www.bodybuilding.com, incase the names are different.
ISO lateral row
(like Machine Bench Press, but pulling instead of pushing)
Lat pulldown
(Close-Grip Front Lat Pulldown)
Leg Press
(Leg Press)
Chest Press
(Dumbbell Bench Press)
Bicep Curl
(Seated Dumbbell Curl)
Tricep Extensions
(One Arm Supinated Dumbbell Triceps Extension)
Crunches on ball
Back Extensions on ball
What I'm interested in now is a good set of basics to work my whole body. The above workout is good for my upper body, but I'd like to get everything working. Since I'm more or less just starting, I'd like to start with, I guess "core type" exercise, not super specialised ones, unless that's the best thing to do.
In addition, what would be the best way to split these up? As I've been working harder, I've been going less often. I don't want to over train. I mainly go to the gym each weekday morning, so that's five days. I was thinking something like 2-3 weight days, and 3-2 carbio days.
Any ideas? Thanks.
