Hi all,

heres my situation. i'm getting surgery on august 15, and i wont be able to lift again until about 6 weeks after that. Currently, since may, i've been cutting, but i've hit a plateau. i've not been able to break 150 pounds, and its the damndest thing. (it especially bugs me because i cant wait to stop using the "150 pound"er slider on the scale, and start using the "100 pound"er slide)
I have been eating clean, 1700 cals a day, 5 meals, but for the last month or so ive been fluctuating between 150 and 155. (except for weekends, where i splurge)

now i know if i didnt splurge on weekends i may be making some progress, but i cant imagine it is all due to that, i would have just been losing weight slower instead of not at all.

Now would a 3 week bulking period help me out? i mean eating more cals, more carbs, starting to build that muscle (so i will still have some left after my recovery period). after surgery, i will continue with a fat-loss diet, but i'm wondering if this boost in cals will jumpstart my metabolism which seems to have slowed to a halt.

also, if anyone could post a link to plateau-busting threads, i would appreciate it, cuz i know there are some good ones, but theres plenty more bad ones.

Three weeks sounds a long time if you just want to jump start your metabolism, this should only take acouple days at most. Maybe even as little as one day. Check your diet to make sure you are eating a good range of calories, keep eatling less as your weight decreases, as you need less cals the lighter you weigh.

I don't know how tall you are, but almost anyone at 150lbs should be bulking. Get some meat on you, dude. After surgery, bulk some more.
