I just had my bodyfat tested at the gym, by the same person who does it about once a year for me, using the same method. Anyway, at 143lbs (6"0 ). I am 10.4% Last October at 146 lbs. I was 12.8 % .

So I guess my question is, how can you calculate if and how much muscle I gained or lost, or how much fat I lost? I am curious as to how to calculate that based on the two measurements. Anyone have a nifty equation?

Oh, and don't freak out by the low bodyfat. I am an athlete, still get my cycle, eat a healthy nutritious diet and get PLENTY of calcium etc.

Thanks! :tu:

At 146 lbs you had 18.7 lbs of fat and 127.3 lbs of lean body mass. At 143 lbs, you had 14.9 lbs of fat and 128.1 lbs of LBM. From that we can assume you lost 4.6 lbs of fat and gained .8 lbs of muscle or LBM, while losing only 3 lbs of weight. That is way I figured it. Good job :claplow:

I think it would be like this (based on calculator).

Now - 143 x .104 = 14.9 fat + 128.1 lean
Before - 146 x .128 = 18.7 fat + 127.3 lean

So you lost almost 4 lbs of fat and gained almost one lb of muscle :claphigh:

edit: rt beat me to it ;)

Thanks guys, those were the answers I was looking for.

My workout plan in grueling to say the least. I am a competetive amateur boxer. I train twice a day, 6 days a week and take Sundays completely off.

Mon: full body strength training and run 4 miles 85% MHR. Mon Evening- an hour of boxing skill work, usually 4-6 rounds of shadow boxing, 4-5 rounds on the heavy bag, 3 rounds on the speed bag, and 3 rounds on the double end bag.

Tues: sparring with trainer and either running in the evening or more skill work.

Wed: interval training, usually run 3 minutes at 9.0-9.5 then drop down to 7.0 for a minute. I repeat that cycle 4-5 times. Usually done with this exercise session after 25 minutes or so. Wed eve is boxing skill work and conditioning drills

Thurs: full body strength training and run about 3 miles afterwards.

Fri: Interval running- 10 x 1 min at 10.0, down to 7.0 for 1 min. repeat that about 10 times. Friday eves- more boxing skill work.

Saturday morning: sparring session with trainer and in the evening, more skill work.

Diet is pretty similar to what you can find on this website. 6 small meals a day. I lean slightly heavier on carbs than protein. probably 60% or more are carbs. basic clean eating. I have to stay within a weight class, so can't fluctuate too much.
