How creative are you guys??! ;) Cause I'm not!! I finally got all kinds of ingredients for smoothies....mainly to add more protein to the diet, get my 6 meals a day in and curb my ferocious sweet tooth. Problem is, I don't really know how to make a tasty smoothie (or shake) out of what I got.....so....here is a list of what I have in the kitchen, maybe one of y'all can make sense of it!

Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
Skim Milk
Bananas (I am freezing 3 of the and 3 of them are fresh)
Frozen mixed berries
Frozen blueberries
Oats
Splenda
Natural Peanut Butter
Vanilla Low Fat yogurt
Banana Low Fat Yogurt
Honey

I now think I should have gotten a tub of cottage cheese....and some cocoa powder (though there may be some of that in the back of my cubbord)

Any ideas or recipes with what I got???

Thanks!

Here are a few ideas, but decrease/increase the amount of all ingredients depending on how many calories you are looking for in each shake.

1) 1 c skim milk
1 scoop Vanilla whey
2 inch long piece of banana
1 - 2 tbsp peanut butter

Blend all the ingredients and add in some ice cubes if you want it to be cold, as well as some water if you want it to be a little more diluted.

2) 1 c skim milk
1 scoop Vanilla whey
1/2 cup berries (one type or several combined)

Follow the same instructions as recipe #1.

3) Same as recipe #1, but add 2 - 3 tbsp oats.

This is a good post workout shake. I didn't include any honey (just because I prefer not including the extra sugar) nor did I include any yogurt, because although you mentionned it's low in fat, it could be high in carbs and sugar (you can check that out yourself, varies depending on the company).

Enjoy! Let me know if this is helpful! :eat:

Oooh! :tucool: I just tried this one for my evening dessert! YUM!! I did add a packet of Splenda to up the sweet factor :o and I used frozen bananas to make it thicker and colder . I may have the berry one for breadfast tomorrow. Tomorrow is my day off from the gym....On Monday I will pull out the oats!

THANKS!! :D

No problem at all! I'm glad you didn't follow my ideas by every word and added whatever you felt you'd enjoy (such as the frozen banana and the splenda). Hehe I'm known as the Queen of Smoothies in my family, I can pretty much come up with anything when I'm put on the spot. :) Have fun!

If you have cinnamon and vanilla extract or almond extract you could add those to any of the ones you plan to do with cocoa.

Go out and get some butterscotch fat free/sugar free jello pudding powder. Throw that (1 T) in a blender with some peanut butter (2 T), some vanilla protein powder (1 or 2 scoops) and some ice and hot damn it's good.
