Hi,

Got a question .. I've been a bit worried just these last 2 nights - am finding my HR is dropping to like 60 and less when I'm lying in bed just before sleeping..... I'm not super fit or anything, do hardly any cardio if anything, and normally during the day its like 72+. Is this normal??

I was going to go to my doctor tomorrow .. it just seems weird to drop down so much -

Has anyone checked their HR when theyre totally relaxed (like when lying in bed)....am I worrying for nothing?

Yes. Your heart knows what it needs and how fast it should be beating. I find that some mornings when I check my pulse immediatly after waking up and before moving around I can get down to 50 -52.

Your heart is fine.

It means your heart can push enough blood around for your body without much effort at all. Do not worry, the lower your heart rate, the better.

I read that Lance Armstrong has a resting heartrate of 32! Now that's freakin low. :)

My resting heartrate last night before bed was 52 and my resting on the morning was 47 based on this i suspect you are normal. The best i can do sat in a chair is 57 it must take a few extra beats to lift the blood from my feet.

your resting heartrate is an indication of how cardiovascularly "in-shape" you are.
the lower the better.

here's a picture of mine at 39.
i've found that a day after i do HIIT and get a good night sleep, it hits 34 the next day.

however - if you ever drop below Lance's resting heart rate, THAT would be cause for concern.
