Hello dudes!

Just thought I'd introduce myself to you all. :D

I'm 16 and from England and am just starting a major overhaul in my lifestyle. I read all the stickies and have to say they are great - I learnt many things about food and excersise that I have never ever known.

I have a quick question or two for all of you and I hope you can help me.

Firstly is this a okay meal plan - it's what I ate today.

Meal1:Porridge(w/Milk) + 1 glass (250ml) Skimmed Milk
Meal2:Chicken Breast, Brown Rice and Cheese.
Meal3:Chicken Breast (Slice) on wholemeal bread w/Salad.
Workout
Meal4:Chicken Strips w/2clementines and an Apple
Meal5:Chicken Strips and 1 glass of milk.

All this was eaten (I like my Chicken:lol:) with lots of water and I had sprinklings of Cashew nuts throughout the day.

My calorie intake is around 1800 in order for me to lose 2 pounds a week (5'7, 168lbs) and todays food, I'm sure, came around that.

Secondly do any of you know where information on food nutritional values can be found? (i.e websites) I can't find apple and orange nutritional values and adding all this stuff up is hard work (plus my Fitness Log crashed and I lost all my data!!!)

Oh and does anyone have any minced beef recipes (for burgers or something not dissimilar :))

Thanks for the help guys, seeing everyones progress here has been a great inspiration to me and I feel set that I can achieve my weight loss and muscle building goals.

Welcome to the forum.

Meal plan doesnt seem to bad, but it's hard to judge because you could prepare any of those meals 1000's different ways that would alter the calorie and macronutrient content of them.

I'd say for the first few months, log everything that you eat and count the calories and macronutrients so you can get an idea of what you're really eating. Ballparking it is bad because sometimes you undereat or overeat and then when you stop loosing weight or start loosing muscle you really dont know what's causing it. Also when the time comes it'll be harder to plan an attack for the stubburn plateaus if you dont have a detailed log of what you eat.
