Hey Folks,
I am wondering if anyone has a bowflex machine at home? I know one person who owns one and loves it. I have a huge shortage of time to run around between work, home and trips to the gym. I do my cardio in various forms, but strength training is realy important to me. Any ladies and or guys use them? I am really interested in knowing more about them. Any help would be appreciated!

I'll pass on what I've read and what my friends tell me (friends who have Bowflexes), but keep in mind that I've never used one.
Bowflex is better than nothing, and if it's the best way for you to workout (time, travel, etc), then do it, but regular weight machines and free weights are better. The Bowflex does offer considerable resistance, but often the range of motion is sort of akward and not the same as dedicated machines and free weights. Plus, it's hard to isolate some muscles with the Bowflex. However, I don't think this is a problem because I believe compound movements are the best way to lift.

Search the equipment forum for bowflex or crossbow coments. It can build 75% of the bodies we see here. I prefer weights but if room is limited and heavy equipment is a problem go ahead and look into it. Buy one used, it will be assembled and you can get the feel of it before buy. Legs are the most neglected bodypart with Bowflex.

Hey Spkyay,
Recently I purchased a bowflex. I have had it for a few months and I love it. Althought hte ads are glitzy and the models are unrealisticly hard, I have found it to work well for me. I get my cardio in throughout the week and use the Bowflex to keep the rest of me toned. I am not looking to be diesel by any means. I bought it because I have a really busy schedule and make it to the gym 4 times a week. I can catch up with the news and not have any distactions in the comfort of my home. Hope this helps, good luck!
