Hey guys. I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so I hope its ok. I started an account with fitday.com the other day. Most of it is pretty easy, but I was having a little confusion understanding something. I go to my activities and it shows me a pie chart with 'calories burned for the day'. It shows BASAL, LIFESTYLE, and ACTIVITIES. I see the activities are calories burned in specific exercises I do for the day. But I am unsure where BASAL and LIFESTYLE come from. Can anyone help explain these numbers?

BASAL - basic energy requirements to keep you alive
Lifestyle - everything else not BASAL or exercise related.

*take those values with a pinch of salt though.

You filled in your activity level and your weight, so the calculations come from that.

PS. I used the online version too, but recently I got the desktop version...its better!!! ($30 USD) I have it on my laptop when I travel
