Hello i am new to this site and want to congratulate everone for wanting to be happy with there body.

I have been born big boneded and have very broad shoulders, so most poeple did not c me as fat but rather big.But unerneath the shirt i have a big belly and some boobs. I weighed at 230 pounds and decided to do something about it .
So about 1 month ago i started doing cardio 3 days a week a and lifting another 3.I lost about 25 pounds and gained some musce(wish i had pics). I stil have alot of fat to lose and just had a few questions to ask.

First, its been about week that im basically eating no carbs at all and toda at the gym my strength decreased.I was just wondering what is the best diet for a prerson like me.
Before last month i had never worked out before in my life and i think thats why i gain a litle muscle.
What would you guys think is the best diet to loose about 4 pounds a week but still gain some muscle.

I don calculate my calories but i estimate that i eat about 1600 calories a day.

Also, should i use creatine.

I don't think you're being realistic about this goal...

To lose fat and get lean you should eat. You should also eat carbs for energy, like oatmeal and whole grain breads.

Hi there and welcome to JSF.

Read the stickies at the top of the forums. I know it sounds attractive to lose weight fast and achieve your goals in the quickest time possible. But, unfortunately these goals are usually short lived, this is why fad diets don't work. Aiming for 4lbs per week is sure to decrease your muscle mass, although you may lose a bit of water weight in the first couple of weeks.

I would start by working out your true caloric requirements (hint: stickie) and aim for a 2lb per week fat loss goal (about 7000 kCals defecit). You need to balance your diet - eat 6 small meals a day, play around with the macros (protein, carb and fat ratios) until you find a ratio that suits you. 40-40-20 is a good place to start. Read up on the various exercise regimes on these boards and try some different things out. Lift weights 3 days a week, if you're new to lifting, do full body workouts at each session. Drink plenty of water and drink plenty of water. Oh did I mention that you should drink plenty of water? :)

good luck :gl: and keep us posted on your progress
