Man...if you feel like you need a litte extra cardio for the day, go outside and mow the yard. I just finished it up. Took me about 35 minutes with a push mower. But when I say mow, I mean you need to mow with a vengeance. MAX OT style mowing ;) I was running as fast as the friction/resistance of the grass would let me and pushing with everything I had for the "full" 35 minutes. Man, my heart has never beat so fast in my life. Now I need to lie down... :o

I love to mow the lawn! I know it sounds weird...but I think it is the instant gratification when you are done.
But if I were to spend 35 minutes running with the mower in the 100+ degree Texas sun I think I would die of heat stroke!
My poor lawn is so neglected! You have to get up at 6am just to beat the heat and by the time 8pm rolls around you are just too tired from the heat of the day!

Believe me, I understand. I live in Texas too, Houston. It's hot as can be down here right now. I hit the yard at about 7:30 so it was a little cooler. But I've grown so the heat doesn't bother me quite as much as it used to. Before I realized what I was doing to myself, I used to play a stickfighting game with a group that met at a local park on Sundays. We would fight out in the heat of summer, running all over the place for about 5 hrs. and rarely drinking water. It's amazing I never had heat exhaustion, but I often went home with dehydration headaches :P....I've since learned better, but it did increase my heat tollerance a wee bit. :tucool:

i do my fasted "morning" cardio most days (5 days out of week) at 2:00 pm in the hot south texas heat. gotten a nice tan because of it. use a lot of sunscreen thats for sure. the heat hasnt screwed with my jogging yet... im getting used to it.
id prefer to jog in the very early morning but i cant get my body to reset itself to waking up at that time.
