View Full Version : Weight gainer 1850!
Mike2112 Fri, July 1st, 2005, 04:45 PM Hello, I now weigh 138 lbs. since ive been going to the jym and eating more protein, im 15 about 5'11. Im trying to gain enough weight to fit into my clothes without a belt( hopefully showing some results in time for school.) I just bought some weight gainer and I was told to only use one scoop instead of the three ( calories 500 instead of 1500.) However no instructions were givin about when to drink it? Hopefully people will know the product, if not i can typ the %. I plan on mixing a scoop of whey in with it, a bananna and drinking it as evening shake. Heres my questions: Will i gain fat instead of muslce ( I go to the gym almost every day) When should i drink it?
bradh Fri, July 1st, 2005, 04:52 PM I can't answer all your questions but you don't want to take too many calories because it just might be fat has opposed to muscle. Figure out your BMR and increase it by 500 or 1000 calories. Just watch you body if your getting fat reduce calories closer to your BMR.

1725.44 X 1.63=2812.47 + 500 = 3312.47 calories a day if you are active in exercise program. Remember weights builds muscle, cardio burns calories. Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water. Muscle is 77% water.
160 might be good target. keeep watch on waist measurement.

Yup. And best bet-get as much of your calories as you can from real food. The weight gainers probably cheap quality protein and a lot of sugar. Not necessarily bad to help you meet your calories goals, but try to have most of it come from good, clean food.
Mike2112 Fri, July 1st, 2005, 09:09 PM Thx everyone, I also posted on the teen forums at bodybuilding.com and a few said drink it PWO and some said pre-wo, they said about an hour before I go to the gym. Now that dosnt make sense why you would want all that sugar, carbs and calories before the gym. However im new to this and everyone knows waay more about this than me, so ill do it but can someone explain why it would be better to drink pre or post? :d_confuse

Why not drink about 1/4 of it preworkout, and the rest postworkout?
