I just got my first 5lb tub of isolate from All the Whey, and I have an unhappy roommate now. I have really, really bad gas.

I had just finished my tub of isolate from ProSource (been using theirs for about 2 years), and got my All the Whey in the mail today. Used it twice- explosive after both times. I mean, really bad. My diet is unchanged, and I'm not lactose intolerant.

It tastes great, mixes fairly well, and is about half the price ($30/80 servings ATW, compared to $30/40 servings ProSource). I do think, however, that the ProSource isolate is higher quality (since those 40 servings come in at about 1/4 the weight and volume), so maybe the culprit is in the quality. (If anyone from ATW is reading- I like your stuff, I'm just bloated!)

Has anyone had this experience before? I don't have time to troll through all the postings in the ATW review, but hopefully someone can shed some light on their own gaseous experiences.

I have all the All The Whey blends except for Chocolate Mint and haven't had that problem at all. (I'm also not Lactose intolerant)

It probably something in there you're just not used to.

I've never had the gas problem others have described from ATW - but my lifting partner just bought a tub of it and he complained the same as you.

Give your body a week to get used to the change and I bet it goes away.

I got my ATW yesterday. Took some last night and this morning and I feel fine. However I get horrible gas from eggs and my coworker can't stand it. If this gives me bad gas he may just quit.

If anyone's interested, the gas and bloating is a result of the whey's not being digested efficiently in my body. My old powder contained some digestive enzymes (including lactase and protease) that are usually included in whey powders and help with digestion. ATW, on the other hand, does not add this to their powder.

Anyone know about their satifaction guarantee?

Why in the hell are you guys farting near your coworkers/roommates/whatever? Smelling other people's farts is THE grossest thing in the world, and I get really, really pissed at people who don't have the simple courtesy to go to the freaking bathroom before they crap their pants. Is it really so hard to go in the other room? Eggs give me bad smelling farts too, which is exactly why I'm polite enough not to visit it on other people.

How many times have you used it? Maybe try it a few more times and see if it's really the culprit. If you're still experiencing problems, post to the All the Whey thread. Laura, their representative, is pretty accomodating.

My boyfriend and I were talking about whey protein shakes and he told me the gym he goes to always stinks because people are farting all the time. At first he wondered why and then someone told him later its because of all the damn protein shakes they drink. Hmmm....if the two are connected I don't know, but its a good guess!
