Hey, just wanted to post a follow up on my questions about chocamine. I have since ordered it and have been taking it for several weeks.

I think I REALLY like this supplement. About 30 minutes after taking it, you get this "I"m cheerful, for absolutely NO reason, ain't it cool???" feeling. And it lasts about an hour.

You also get an extra burst of energy (I'm guessing it's from the caffiene) and people also report it as a "smart supplement" which is supposed to sharpen your mental clarity. As I am already completely mental - clarity is probably a serious issue with me. However, I think it's likely just the caffiene making people bounce off the walls and read things at seven times the normal pace that they call "mental clarity." I could be wrong. Except, not a single person I know will admit to me being any smarter, no matter HOW many times I ask.

It comes in a powder, which smells heavenly like chocolate - but I think this actually is a drawback because you expect it to be wonderful (whether conciously or not, due to the aroma), and then you put it on your tounge and it's like licking the pavement outside. BLARGH! However, I have found that the best way to take it is to put the teaspoonful most of the way back on my tounge and chug a cup or more of water. I take 1 teaspoon, twice a day (never close to bedtime...) and I am considering bumping this up to the max dose of 3 times a day. I haven't seen any maximum fat-burning type results with it yet, but I do certainly hit my workouts with more vigour and a much more positive attitude. I think that were my diet in line (instead of on vacation with me out here in AZ) that it is possible I would have seen some additional results. As for it upping the libido... *ahem*. Ok, this is true - and it's not in relation to when you take it, it's more a cumulative affect overall. I have no idea what the affect would be for men (do they NEED help in this department anyway????) but I can attest to the fact that after about the 2nd week of using it, there was a definite libido increase. And that is all I will say on that before I die of embarassment. :o

It totally kills your appetite. I've had problems even remembering to eat, because of it. (you are supposed to take it on an empty stomach 30 min before a meal...)

Out of curiosity, how is this different from eating defatted unsweetened cocoa powder? Is it just ultra concentrated cocoa powder?

actually, it is different, but this supplement profile explains it better than I can: http://www.1fast400.com/i62_Chocamine.html

I dunno. it's interesting, what he has to say, but I think some of it is taken out of context, and the rest may be supposition. Perhaps he is right, but if that were the case, we should have a lot more of those diseases evident than we do considering our chocolate consumption. In addition to that, he seems to think the chocamine is only a booster for the caffeine affect, and it isn't...

Either way, they're gonna have to pry the hershy bar out of my cold dead hands.... it's sad, but true :D
