i have an army training date set now, and if i wish to be recruted i need to run 1 1/2 miles in under 12 mins, which is no trouble, i can run that in 8.37.

but i really want to make an impresstion and i want to really increase my lactic threashold, any of you guys know a good way to do this.

if i pass allt he test, i get to go to harrogate to train for 2 years until im 18, then i get to serve yeah.

The best way to increase your LT, IMO, is to run LT intervals. Start out 3 minutes at threshold pace and throttle back for 30-60 seconds for recovery. If you can work your way up to 15 minutes at your LT you'll fly.
I raced mountainbikes for a few years and I trained this way for my LT, except on a bicycle. My LT on my bike was the boss but when I would run it sucked. LT interval training will only increase your LT for that specific activity you are training for for the most part.

What's lactic threshold? I sort of know what lactic acid is...

Does it have to do with cramps?

lactic threshold is the fastest running pace maintained without a rapid rise in the lactic acid levels in your muscles and blood,
