I was talking to a bodybuilder at the gym tonight and he suggested that I should split my protein and carbs at 60% protein to 40% carbs. This would make my split 48%-32%-20% (P-C-F). I;ve read on numerous posts here that you should probably take on more carbs on a lifting day.

This guy is pretty well built so I assume he knows what he's talking about - he's currently in a cutting cycle ready for a competition in November.

Any thoughts on macro ratios would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I would say the ideal ratio for cutting is in fact 20% carbs, 40% protein, and 40% fat. The problem is when you eat 1900-2100 calories like this it gets a little old very quickly.

everyone's body responds differently to different macros... experiment... I cycle my carbs & calories so that on lifting day's my macros are 40p/40c/20f and I have approximately 200 calories more than on non lifting days... on non-lifting/cardio only day's my macros look more like this 50-60p/10-20c/30f and my overall calories are lower than on my lifting days... this works for me, but it may not work for someone else... try this for a month and see how you look and feel... just a suggestion ;)
