Well, I count myself lucky to have only walked away from this one with a nasty headache.

I was working out at school and asked one of the patrons of the weight room to spot me while I bench pressed. So I get into position and go down. I am using 150 lbs by the way. On my 4th or 5th rep my right arm just gives out all of a sudden. Now usually this is not a problem if your spotter is doing his job. Well, mine was too busy ogling the girls who were working out instead of helping me recover from almost crushing my head with 150 pounds of steel!!! I got really lucky since it hit my head right at the hairline and kind of glanced off.

I'm never gonna ask him to spot me again.

Any of you guys ever have a homicidal spotter?

Ahhh yes - the dreaded ooogling spotter.

We laugh about it now - but I was doing some incline bench presses one day and had to set the bar down on my chest cause the guy who was 'spotting' me was too busy taking in the scenery on the treadmills.

Sometimes you get distracted man - we're only human.

(Screaming and coughing wildly usually gets their attention back to ya - well... it worked in my case)

a reason why i don't use spotters. Some don't realise why they are spotting you in the first place...

Just outta curiosity, if you were doing standard benches why did it nearly come crashing down on your head instead of your chest? The only thing I can think of is that you were trying to place the bar back on the supports  and if that was the case, yeah your idiot spotter should've been paying more attention.
