View Full Version : Peanut butter cup recipe HELP
fitness_nerd Mon, June 20th, 2005, 10:56 PM I thought I saw it here, but maybe I didnt.
I was someone's peanut butter cup recipe.
It incuded whey protein, natty peanut butter, and putting them in ice cube trays to solidify.
A decent lower carb protein/natty recipe would be great.
Thanks people.

curvature Thu, June 23rd, 2005, 09:34 AM OK, well I did find these:
~Pronut Butter - You can vary the amounts for different ratios, but, basically -
1 T peanut butter
1.5 scoops protein powder
1 tsp sugar-free syrup
You can eat this on whole-wheat toast with low-carb jelly
~Chocolate Peanut Butter Proatmeal
1 serving
2/3 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
1 cup water
1 teaspoon natural peanut butter
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 serving sugar-free, fat-free hot cocoa mix
1/8 cup skim milk
Combine oats with water in a microwave-safe bowl (use a big enough bowl so it doesn't overflow when it boils). Cook on High for 4 minutes. Add peanut butter, stirring until the peanut butter "melts" and appears smooth. Add protein powder, cocoa mix & skim milk. Stir & enjoy!
~Peanut Butter Cup Pudding
Put 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1 tablespoon chocolate fudge
Jell-O mix, 2 tablespoons natty peanutbutter, ? cup cottage cheese, 1
cup ice cubes, and ? cup water in a blender, blend on high for 1
minute. Pour it into a bowl, sprinkle with chopped walnuts, and
refrigerate for an hour
Protein shake additions (with snazzy names!):
Butterfinger:
1 T cocoa powder
2 T natural peanut butter
York Peppermint Patty:
1 T cocoa powder
Peppermint extract to taste (usually 1/8-1/4t)
Mounds:
1 T cocoa powder
Coconut extract to taste
Chocolate-Banana
1 T cocoa powder
1/2 t banana or banana extract or to taste
I take no responsibility for any of these recipes because I haven't tried any of them. :gl:
sabre Thu, June 23rd, 2005, 10:14 AM Hey, at least you are trying...and for that i can not fault you
Gordo Thu, June 23rd, 2005, 02:00 PM Hmmm I've made the bad kind for the kids but it would be interesting to try and modify into a healthier version.
Might give this a try....
See the real recipe involves a boat load of choc chips melted, peanut butter and icing sugar (to "set" the peanut butter).
The modification would come from mixing Protein Powder with "chocolate exterior" (to up the protein profile).
But what would work for the chocolate????
When I made them I excluded the icing sugar and used Nat. PB but they require constant refridgeration or freezing but were quite tasty and almost the same as the "original".
I'd say it could probably be done with jello sugar free, fat free pudding mix,a little cocoa for choc taste, and choc protein powder. The rest is simple. You have to work on the profile to get it where you want it
cut 1/3 of a muffin cup liner to make it the REESE size.
mix the jello pudding with water or skim milk add a couple of scoops of whey pp (you'll want it thicker so probably reduced liquid is a good idea (start with a 1/3 reduction to experiment with results).
line the interior of the cup and let it set in the freezer.
Fill with approx 1 tblsp peanut butter let it set in the freezer (approx 1 hour)
Top it off with left over pudding/protein mix and set in freezer again for about 10 mins.
discard paper liner....EAT.
Might have to give this a try since it's theory right now.
phillydude Thu, June 23rd, 2005, 02:24 PM Yeah baby... now we're talking. I'll also do an experiment or two and see what happens.
LarryNC Thu, June 23rd, 2005, 05:21 PM Well.. this is what I did
2 scoop chocolate whey
4oz water
mixed it up
poured half into a bowl, then puta layer of peanut butter then poued the rest on top and put it in the freezer. fell asleep and now its a giant frozen protein thing!
I'll see what happens when it thaws out.. :D
Edit: Thawed out in about 5 minutes.. and almost melted away! .. it was decent, a little too much whey protein I think, so I would do this:
1scoop whey with 2 oz water, mix it up, half in a bowl, put a layer of peanut butter, and rest opf the whey on top and put in freezer and when u want it pull it out and eat it like a reecesi cecream pop ;)

There's a lot of peanut butter chocolate recipes at the Low Carb Recipes bakery, (http://www.carb-lite.au.com/71CONFECTIONARY/71confectionarymenu.html) but most of them are not low fat.
