heyy guys im 19 years old and i think i got a hernia. Ive been lifting for a year and do it with proper form. But for the last week ive been getting this stinging pain feeling on the right side in between my groin and lower abdomen. I feel the stinging feeling when i cough and press on it.

You think this is serious enough to be checked by a doctor? This is scaring me cuz i dont wanna quit lifting because of this. I love lifiting heavy.

Is there any home remedy treatments for it??

Thanks!!

Yeah, the cough test is a dead give away. I'd get it checked out.

I had a minor one. No stinging, but it gave me the geevees when I coughed.

Most often, it's just a day surgery thing. They use lasers now, so the incision is tiny.

I was up and around in 4 days and doing physical stuff in 6 weeks.

If you've got stinging, I'd get it checked out ASAP.

You're young -- if you need surgery you'll be back in shape in no time at all. Don't let that hold you back from getting it checked out ASAP. If it becomes strangulated, it can be fatal. (You'll notice the pain long before you keel over, though.)

It's hereditary/congenital in a lot of people, so it doesn't necessarily mean your lifting caused it. The repairs they'll make are sophisticated now and you should be able to lift heavy no problemo after you're 100% healed.

I had one on each side and they were operated on years ago. With the new techniques I'm sure you'll be fine in no time at all. I have heard however that about 70% of men who get them, will get one on the other side in the future, Just something to think about.
