I was just looking through the pictures, I am amazed at how quickly John got ripped when he first started working out/dieting. From 1/6/2003 to 1/6/2003 he went from over 200lbs to 160lbs RIPPED!! Does anyone know exactly what he did, cardio, intake wise, thats just crazy results, Ive been doing what I've been doing since Jan. 2004 and its about the same mark now as he was at and I have no where near the definition he had..

Thnx

Lol...according to your post he did all that within one DAY! Pretty damn impressive. Haha. If you look at the website, John has detailed food logs that you can look at if you're wondering about what he took in (which you are). The logs also have information on what cardio he did, and when he did weight training (although there is not detailed information on his weight workouts).

John is able to stick to to his gameplan 100%. I think he said that he didn't even cheat during that period, ever. He also admits that he ate too far under the caloric level he should have. That probably sped up the fat loss at the expense of some muscle. You're right though, his progress is amazing. He has way more determination than I ever will... but then again, I like to cheat here and there, it's not a race for me and I'd go nuts without my favorite foods once in a while.

Damn it !!!! Everybody here knows I'm pro SGX for keepin lean mass and burnin the fat off BUT it took me 5 months to loose 36 pounds and here John still shows me up......he lost 40 in ONE day.

It also takes commitment , dedication , and the wanting to get fit. That and a good diet/workout plan :tu:

Agree! But the "all or nothing" attitute can lead to failure too (if done incorectly). But fortunately John made it through with a great sucess! :tu:

He has written it all in his web. Just check it out. But remember, if John made that results by that gameplan, it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll get the same one too even though you religiously follow it! :tucool:

Bullshit. If that's what you believe - or if you attach any other excuse to your lack of progress, stop wasting John's bandwidth. You'll never reach your goals if you don't believe fully you'll get there. Your faith and vision are your most powerful tools. John obviously had 'em. Do you?

Anyone can do it. Difference is, you have to want it as bad as he did.

Like Monsieur Slushy, this isn't a race for me and I have no need for the body of a Greek god other than that I want it. And that's the most important facet - desire. A reason to move on and fight and continue and eventually, you'll win. Hey, I can see my obliques again, my top two abs are finally starting to peek out (even if it is only first thing in the morning when I wake up, but damnit, they're there!) and my physique is finally starting to look like I've always envisioned it in my head.

And I can't live without pizza or Oreos from time to time. Fitness is about improving quality of life, not deprivation in the name of seeing six-pack abs. Find the balance that works for you and run with it. In time, you'll reach your goals. It can take months, like John, or years, like me (a little more than two years, to be exact...).

Don't blame it on mitigating circumstances. That's weak and conducive to failure before you ever begin. Excuses, excuses... how sad that all the hard work and success of this collective seems to be lost on some folks.

cause he works from home. And don't forget, it's also because he takes steroids and other drugs and gets all his supplements and gym equipment for free because he is a sponsor whore. I'm pretty sure he also had surgery too.

:p :D Ok, we all know none of that is true and that his transformation has been a result of hard work and absolute dedication to achieve his goals. Most of us (including myself) simply don't want to work that hard. Like Bluestreak, I can't do without pizza every once in a while either.

To Bluestreak. Could not agree more with every letter of that post.

This is something that nobody else can do for you. You have to do it and you have to choose every day what you want to do. Whether that's not eating the oreos, doing an extra 2 reps, or something as simple as dialing it back to take care of a sore shoulder or tweaked hamstring, it's your choice.

John went all out and it has paid results. Good for him. It has nothing to do with his employment locale. I'd be willing to bet that he'd have the same result if he were commuting 40 minutes each way every day. Why? Because he wanted it and held himself accountable.

No need to apologize, believe me, tone and inflection are lost in this medium.

And you'd be surprised how many wise asses in the past would make that comment and believe it...

Tack on that I'm sick, I'm tired, and I'm generally cranky... I'd layeth the smack down on my Grandma right now if she stepped on my nerves.
