I know we've brushed this in the past, but I'm too dumb to find it in google. Can anybody state what the most a bodybuilder has ever gained after a competition was? I know it was over 20 lbs in 24 hours...

I don't think that's quite possible... I gained about 25 lbs but did it in about a month and a half :( and I'm still getting ride of it

I WON'T be doing that again... no way, no how... I'm staying in competition or near competition shape from here on out... once I get back their that is :p

of course I can imagine... I've competed... silly :p but I still think 20 lbs sounds a bit far fetched... they would have had to inject insane amounts of fluids and food to gain that much that quickly

You're talking about guys who weigh in excess of 250... 270... some are near 300-lbs. To gain 20-lbs. in a day is probably a distinct possibilty as these people spend the week before the competition dehydrating and depleting their bodies of all excess fluids, all the while practically starving themselves.

Water weighs 8.34 lbs. per gallon. All they'd have to do is drink and retain a couple gallons of water to reach a weight gain of nearly 16-lbs. Since I drink nearly 2-gallons of water per day, I find it highly likely that men the size of a professional bodybuilder could reach a total 24-hour weight gain post-contest of 20-lbs.

Yeah-I supposed it's possible. A huge, 300-lb shredded dude with no water in his body eats a couple huge, sodium-laden meals and drinks tons of water after a rigorous pre-competition diet. I'd imagine they could retain almost all of it. After the first day or so, they'd probably lose a lot of that water weight as their body readjusted.
