Anyone else notice that Lifes little problems seem less Dificult after a Good Workout?

When I step out of the shower and get dressed after a good workout, I feel as if all the little problems that occur on a daily basis can be easily solved or are really not that big of a deal to begin with.

While doing cardio my thinking seems much clearer. No phones, email, faxes, complaints etc. I don't even listen to music or read.

Although I see a few people trying to stay plugged in while working out, I am not one of them.

I come up with new ideas to old problems while doing cardio. Now if I can just remember the solution when I am finished I'll be in good shape. Maybe I do need that PDA?

I believe, and someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but working out causes the body to release natural endorphins which have the same effect on the brain as opiates.

That, coupled with the psychological boost of knowing you are doing something to improve your body and health, creates a kind of euphoria.

My brain goes on auto-pilot at the gym now. I just do my workout and listen to my music, the rest of the world may as well not be there. The exercises and routines are so ingrained that they're almost completely automatic. Same for cardio time - my headphones are on and my mind is floating in music.

But I do feel as though my day just doesn't seem right unless I get my workout in, and my day seems to be more manageable when I do.

YES! I know exactly what you're talking about and it's a damn great feeling isn't it? I just feel so much more assertive after a good workout and I go ahead and do things which I was putting off/avoiding earlier. I hope it becomes a permanent effect. :)

I'm lousy at expressing myself in words, but thats what happened to me lately. No struggle or fantacising about chocolate crossoints I could have been eating right now anymore. No motivation needed to finish a 45 min cardio session.

It's great, isn't it? :)

Dunno why I'm still having problems getting off the couch and out the door. Makes no sense, really.
