I am an officer on a naval ship, so I am restricted in many ways. It is a very stressful job and I do not get allot of sleep (5 hours a day). My schedule is so complicated that I sleep when I can to get the 5 hours so basically; I can’t have a concrete routine in my life. I am not over weight, but I am not in the shape I want to be in. I try to exercise every day and eat well (the meal is decided by others). Is there any suggestions or ideas on how I can lose weight? I am new to the whole supplement area. I am skeptical that a pill can solve my problems. I read the site and know the supplements john stone suggests. And when I went to GMC, there were 100's of pills that claim they are the best. Again any suggestions or ideas here?

We're the same age!
You abso-freaking-lutely do not need any supplements at all. Their name hints at what they can do, which is supplement a diet. They should never be the cornerstone of one's diet or workout regimen.
Forget the pills. I've tried them and they can work (though more so, pre-ephedra laws), but they will become your crutch, not to mention they are inherently unhealthy. Your body is perfectly capable of losing fat on its own.
To lose weight you need to, not surprisingly, eat less. Maintain a calorie deficit and you will lose weight. Ideally you want to be lifting weights (if you have the chance) and doing cardio (dito), partly for health reasons and partly because both wildly enhance the weight loss process.
It's preferred to eat small healthy meals throughout the day, but that option may not be available to you. Do your best not to go hungry for long stretches (like skipping breakfast), but simply eating less at the meals you are given will help.
If you're serious about this I would expect that you will come upon enough nutritional information to make the military food options be pretty healthy, in the end. I recall reading something by a guy in the military who said his diet is not the best, but he does what he can, and it was really working for him.
Good luck with it all :)

I’m sticking to the idea of working out everyday and not having the extras, such as water in place of any other drink and balancing out my diet. Thanks for your input. :tu:
