View Full Version : Looking for a Challenger Male or Female 20's
jennifer123 May 31st, 2005, 12:48 AM Looking for someone who is really looking to lose some weight and jump in full speed ahead. I used to play basketball for college. I used to play basketball for college (I am 23) and weighed 174 when I was in perfect shape and everyone swore I was not an ounce over 135 and now I weigh 220 and no one believes I am an ounce over 175. I need some motivation and someone to hold me accountable and vice versa. I hold my weight well but I have to lose 60lbs.
Anyone up for this????
Gohan May 31st, 2005, 01:36 AM Sure, as long as I don't have to play basketball. :-)
Buddha May 31st, 2005, 02:50 AM I have a lot more than 60 lbs to lose, but could help use the motivation of a challenge.
jennifer123 May 31st, 2005, 03:40 AM Glad to see I got some responses so soon. What are everyone's stats. I have a pic on my profile but not a full body. I am pretty good at jumping in pretty strong and losing weight quick but there has been so much stuff going on and now I have gotten to a point where it is something that needs to be addressed. The shift in lifestyle from college to Graduate school has been detrimental but I will get through it. One of my majors in school was Kinesiology and I am a certified personal trainer and do absolutely nothing with it.
Well, thats mt story. I will start poting tomorow. See ya'll then.
curvature May 31st, 2005, 01:32 PM I'm up for it, too! Do you have a particular plan of attack?
jennifer123 May 31st, 2005, 02:27 PM I'm thinking pretty steep for me. 45-60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week. I will begin weights next week. Lifd days will be M W F with Sundays completely off. Tuesdays and Saturdays are just cardio and ab work. Meal plan will include like 3 meals and 2 snacks. I love my Kashi Go Lean Crunch in the morning and a protein shake before I go to bed. I make sure to eat yogurt and fresh fruit. I have a huge problem with all my eating being at night. That is when my appetite seems to overpower me. It will just take some hard core readjustment. Anyone else got any suggestions. If you want to know what my workouts are going to be as far as weights just let me know.
samirp20 May 31st, 2005, 08:15 PM Mind if I join? I got about 40-50 pounds to lose. I'm doing fasted cardio every morning. I was doing weights 3 days a week but stopped after I caught the flu. I'd like to start that again though. I had a bad two week period of eating junk and would like to get back on track.

Buddha June 1st, 2005, 03:34 AM I am going to be busy tomorrow, but will be starting on Thursday. Will post my plans and goals tomorrow night.
Gila Monster June 1st, 2005, 08:46 AM I'd love to join! I have 22-19 stubborn pounds to loose. :d_mad:
I've been lifting weights untill now, 4 days/week, 2 days chest-shoulders-back-triceps-biceps exercises, 2 days legs-abs exercises.
Today I'm signing up to a gym and start my cardio at last. I'm not very good at running, the plan is to survive half an hour of running on 8# on the threadmill.
I'm planning to do the cardio 2 times/week, but might increase it if the planned exercises go well.
My pictures are lost somewhere in the media galery, I don't look much different today though.
Well, good luck! :gl:

30 minutes at 8 speed is really good. I'm still trying to work my way up. Currently I'm doing 5.2 speed (no incline) for 50 minutes. I'd probably die if I tried going 30 straight minutes at 8 speed on a treadmill. That is pretty impressive.
samirp20 June 1st, 2005, 12:14 PM My goal is to cut as much fat as quickly as possible. I'm currently 23 years old. I weigh 182 lbs (last I checked), using the Tanita body fat scale it says I am 30% body fat. My goal (rough goal) is to lose 40-50 pounds.
My plan is to do Fasted cardio everymorning. I get up at 4:00 AM and I will go for 50 minutes at 5.2 speed no incline. I'd like to improve my speed though and try and gain more stamina and endurance.
As for diet I am currently getting 1500-1600 calories on a 50/20/30 (c/f/p) split. An hour after I finish cardio I'll have a breakfast of 6 eggwhites, and 2 cups of oatmeal with strawberries. at 9:30 AM I have a can of tuna and a banana. at 12:30 I'll have a detour bar (i'd like to have whole foods but I hate preparing food for work). At 3:30 pm I will have a cup of pinto beans and chicken cooked with olive oil and spices. At around 6:30 pm I'll have a really big bowl of salad.
I was lifting for awhile but stopped for a few weeks. I'd like to get back into lifting. I just use free weights that I have. I have a barbell and dumbbell set. I need to create a plan and follow through on it.
Are any of you guys planning to do cheat meals? I can't live without them but I always go on a binge when I cheat instead of just having one cheat meal and leaving it at that. I'll eat like crap for a whole day and sometimes for the whole weekend too. I am going to try and just have one cheat meal on friday or saturday night and eat clean the rest of the time.
Good Luck everyone!
Gila Monster June 1st, 2005, 03:49 PM 30 minutes at 8 speed is really good.
Well, I'm back from the gym. It was super fun! Gym is great when you go with the right company! :D (well, just about everything is). Anyway, as we say in Israel, no running-on-speed-8-for-half-an-hour and no shoes! I ran for 5 minutes in the beginning, 5 minutes in the end and walked on speed 7 for the rest of the time (holding the handles) though I did that on incline 6. Well, I'm only beginning, I did my best really and that what matters! :tucool:
Are any of you guys planning to do cheat meals?
Nope. I'll stay away from cheat food as much as possible. It's psychological - I know that if I eat something which is not proper I'd feel like a failure. If the cravings get too strong (I crave for sweets, fast food is not an issue for me) I'll eat a health bar.
jennifer123 June 1st, 2005, 05:39 PM On my way to the gym now for a little monotony (LOL). Wish me luck and I am going to post food and workout stats later on this evening. Everyone keep us UPDATED AND MOTIVATED. This is going to be my slogan for this challenge. I can already see my 60 lbs melting off. Okay, maybe I am a little over-zealous. Good luck to everyone. Catch you on the flip side.
ebatch20 June 1st, 2005, 08:19 PM I'd like to join as well....need the extra modivation to get thru the summer months.
I'll post my workout and whatnot later tonight. For pics and my diary click on my sig below.
Gila Monster June 2nd, 2005, 11:53 AM Zero activity today. My car broke and I couldn't go to the gym :(
samirp20 June 3rd, 2005, 12:29 AM Got up at 4 oclock and jogged for 50 minutes. Felt great afterwards. The only bad thing is that even after a shower after I put my clothes back on I start sweating. It feels good though driving to work with the windows down feeling the cool air. I ate my normal foods and the calories added up to around 1700. Gotta go to bed now "and get up and do it again, Amen"
jennifer123 June 3rd, 2005, 01:28 AM The official thread forf this challenge is Jenn and the Gang. So start posting and lets have some fun!!!!! :tu: :tu:
Buddha June 7th, 2005, 02:35 PM I have slacked in checking this forum or posting my details
It is almost embarassing to put this out here on the net, but it needs to be done. I am 24, and currently 386 lbs. I figure I need to lose almost 200 lbs to because a healthier 200 or so lbs. I am 5' 10" tall. Right now I am going to lift weights monday wednesday friday, and do some cardio on the elliptical tuesday thursday saturday. I am going to try and do aroudn 20 minutes on the elliptical right now and work my way up to more slowly.
Yesterday I made it to the gym before work and got some chest and tricep weight training in. Today is a cardio day, and tomorrow will be back and biceps. Fridays i plan on doing legs and shoulders and taking Sunday off.
I am going to try to post daily, more than likely after work around midnight since that is when I get home from work, and I go to the gym before work.
Good luck to everyone.
