View Full Version : Lower Your Bodyfat Challenge
don_1987 Thu, May 19th, 2005, 11:03 PM Hi there guys and gals, I'm looking for someone willing to lose weight slowly and/or just willing to live a healthier lifestyle.
I'm also hopping that this person is at the same age range as I am (15-19), 17 is perfect  Male or female no problem...
I'm doing this for the sake of motivation, because I never had a cutting partner before and having one seems to be a great motivation booster!
By the way my general stats are as follows:
Height: 6'0''
Weight: 157 lbs
BF: (12%-15%) sorry, no caliper :o
PS: If you don't mind, cutting starts at June 1 ;)
gidrac Fri, May 20th, 2005, 10:28 AM Hi Don, :)
I have been looking for a challange similar to this. Except, I'm 25, 5'5, 145 lbs and ~19% (these days). Not sure if that would work. It's up to you.
I've had great success with a simple challange on Men's Health forums, but I've always had connection problems with that site. It was very motivating. Knowing that I had to report how I did for everyone to see made me stick with it.
I want to get in shape for an upcoming vacation on Aug 1st. I was hoping to do something like 10 weeks, 70 days - clean eats, cardio and of course weight training for a slow cut and most importantly - consistency.
Mark.
don_1987 Fri, May 20th, 2005, 10:28 PM Sure! No problem :tu: By the way; if I may know, what is your target weight and bodyfat? Anyhow, is it ok for you to start cutting on the date I set?
gidrac Fri, May 20th, 2005, 11:35 PM Sure! No problem :tu: By the way; if I may know, what is your target weight and bodyfat?
Well, my target bodyfat is 10%. I'm not sure on the weight though. At my height, I would think 125-130 lbs. The fat is mostly on my stomach.
Anyhow, is it ok for you to start cutting on the date I set?
Yes, that will be fine. However, since I have a bit more BF than you, and since I was hoping to get in 10 weeks before my vacation, I think I may start practicing on Monday ;)
In any case, I will be ready full blast on June 1st with you. :tu:
Mark.
don_1987 Sat, May 21st, 2005, 01:31 AM One funny thing though, we store most fat in the same area (and I bet a thousand of male do too  ) and another similarity we have, my target bf is also 10% :tu: I'm not so sure that my bf is 12-15 % because I don't have a caliper, that's just my estimation. Anyway, I'm starting to get my diet back in place first. That's way I choose June 1 as the starting date, where hopefully I'll be ready as hell comes that date! Well enough said, see you on June 1 :tucool:
Acliff Sat, May 21st, 2005, 05:42 AM Do you mind if I join in?
I'm quite similar to Gildrac, I'm 5'5, 140lb, about 12- 13% body fat.
I think I store most fat around my lower trunk and my legs.
Long term aim of 125 lb for competitions, 130lb normally, with under 10% body fat.
don_1987 Sat, May 21st, 2005, 06:36 AM Of course I don't mind... IMO, the more the better! :claplow: How about you, gidrac? Is it ok with you?
LarryNC Sat, May 21st, 2005, 11:30 PM Hey don, gonna join this,
5"10ish
170ish
17%BFish
Not sure my stats for real, I'll post them at the first.
We can also use this thread to post "road blocks" that we come across while on our cut.
This is gonna be great!
supermanwannabe Sun, May 22nd, 2005, 01:03 AM Hey Don, I was hoping to join in.
I'm a 20 year old male, 5' 10" at 180 w/ around 20-22% BF. I was hoping to have some sort of challenge to boost my motivation for the summer. Does this suit?
supermanwannabe Sun, May 22nd, 2005, 01:04 AM I'll get measured on June 1st for the start. I too need to get my diet realligned. I look forward to it!
don_1987 Sun, May 22nd, 2005, 05:36 AM Looking forward to it guys! :tu: Can't wait 'till it's June 1 :jumping:
The idea that LarryNC suggested can really work great guys, what do you think?
Oh, and by the way, I was hoping that you guys won't mind posting your "starting stats"; weights, heights, age, measurements etc... I'll post mine exactly on June 1 :read:
gidrac Sun, May 22nd, 2005, 08:19 AM Of course I don't mind... IMO, the more the better! :claplow: How about you, gidrac? Is it ok with you?
Definitely. :tu: The more the merrier. Looking forward to it guys!
We can also use this thread to post "road blocks" that we come across while on our cut.
Excellent. I was hoping to do the same.
LarryNC Sun, May 22nd, 2005, 11:00 AM Definitely. :tu: The more the merrier. Looking forward to it guys!
Excellent. I was hoping to do the same.
Kick butt, more challengers! This is gonna be great!
fosse Fri, May 27th, 2005, 07:53 PM hey you guys mind if i join in to, i could do with the motivation and im just starting cutting, im 16.

don_1987 Sat, May 28th, 2005, 12:16 AM Sure, no problem! :tu: Be prepared to watch those bodyfat melt starting June 1 :D
fosse Sat, May 28th, 2005, 07:16 PM great i look foward too it
don_1987 Sat, May 28th, 2005, 08:46 PM Guys, how about if we start a pre-cutting diet starting on Monday? I know that the real cut begins on Wednesday, but how about if we do a warm-up set 3 days prior to the real thing?
supermanwannabe Sat, May 28th, 2005, 08:48 PM Fine by me.
don_1987 Sat, May 28th, 2005, 09:04 PM I'll be waiting for the others to reply, then I think I'll post my stats tommorow... :)
Acliff Sun, May 29th, 2005, 05:52 AM I've been preparing for my cut at the moment by eating above maintenance by quite a bit for the past 2 weeks, but doing heavy weights, to pack on some muscle before I start stripping all the fat.
My weight has gone up, but I'm hoping that alot of it is water weight.
don_1987 Mon, May 30th, 2005, 12:16 AM Hi guys, it's Monday here already, so I think I'll start my pre-cutting diet today :D
By the way, my starting stats are as follow:
Current weight: 157 lbs (heaviest)
Target weight: 152 lbs
Current abdomen: 33.5 inches (largest)
Target abdomen: 32 inches
Current bodyfat: 16%
Target bodyfat: 12%
These are the measurements I keep a good eye on and the ones that I would like to change for better. I'll post you guys later with my food intake for today. My target food intake is 2000-2200 kcal daily.
-Cheers :tucool:
LarryNC Mon, May 30th, 2005, 02:29 PM Can't wait till wed. This is gonna own up. Today and tomarrow ill have a small splurge and weigh in on wed morning.
don_1987 Mon, May 30th, 2005, 07:29 PM Just one more day to go... Can't wait 'till June 1! I'm starting to get annoyed hearing people say, "Hey, you're starting to get fatter... Although it look better on you" I know that's supposed to be a compliment, but I love my abs better. Can't wait to get them back! :jumping:
LarryNC Tue, May 31st, 2005, 11:57 AM Tomarrow it is! Measurments and weigh in will be done first thing in the morning, before breakfast. ha.
Question? Do you do measurments flexed or unflexed?
Also, are we gonna do daily updates? :)
Acliff Tue, May 31st, 2005, 01:08 PM I'm probably going to post each day, if I get the time, I'm in exam season, and if I don't do something structured each day I will most probably go mad :)
LarryNC Tue, May 31st, 2005, 09:32 PM Sounds good!
Once I go to bed, and wake up, its all up hill from there:)
Ate a bunch of junk today, hardees and sweets. It's amazing how junk doesn't apeel to me very much anymore. I went to store and bought alot of meat and veggies and fruit today after work, too!
don_1987 Wed, June 1st, 2005, 12:07 AM Today is June 1 already for me :jumping: Like LarryNc said, it's all uphill battle from today 'till I reach my goal (hopefully by the end of this month). I know others might shoot me for this, but for me, during this cut, my motto is, "Planning for a cheat is planning for a failure". That means I'm planning to eat as clean as posible without any cheat meals...
LarryNC Wed, June 1st, 2005, 12:38 AM Measurments are in, this starts tomarrow, ate like junk today and feel really weird, thank god I don't work for 2 days.
Stats!:
Height: 69 inches (Could be 70, not really sure, don't care anyway:))
Weight: 181 pounds(lots of retained water!)
BF: 21% (rounded up)
Neck: 14.5 inches
Shoulders: 45 inches
Chest 38.5 inches
Waist 32.5 inches
Abs: 36 inches
Hips: 36.5 inches
Theigh: 24.5 inches
Knee: 15 inches
Calf 15.25 inches
Ankle: 9.25 inches
Arm: 12 inches (14 inches cold flexed)
Forarm: 10.5 inches
Wrist: 7 inches
Goal: To be 15%, and/or 165 pounds by the end of the month (it could probably happen!)
Pretty bad before stats, but I like it. The more weight I have, the more muscle I can retain, I don't want to be a skeleton when I'm 10%.
Will weigh myself Every morning after I take a weewee, before breakfast, and will do measurments next month on the first.
Good luck everyone!
Acliff Wed, June 1st, 2005, 03:16 AM Woo june 1st!!
I'm retaining a serious amount of water but at the moment I can't drink lots of water. Being in exam season, the requirement to go to the toilet several times an hour is unthinkable :)
Stats:
Height - 5'5
Weight - 146.7lb
Neck - 14.7 inches
Shoulders: 46 inches
Chest 37.25 inches
Waist 31 inches
Abs: 32 inches
Hips: 34 inches
Theigh: 21 inches
Knee: 15 inches
Calf 14.5 inches
Ankle: 9.5 inches
Arm: 12 inches (13.25 inches cold flexed)
Forarm: 11 inches
Wrist: 6.5 inches
I've got quite broad shoulders for my height.
long term aims: get to 130lb, get bigger arm and forearms.
Waist and abs under 30 inches.
Overall aim, loose excess fat, become more nimble due to this. (in terms of taekwondo and kicking and footwork speed)
I seem to be holding a fair amount of fat on my lower back, which seems a little odd.
No cheat meals for me until end of exams day. Then a party the weekend after. So first cheat meal is next friday!
don_1987 Wed, June 1st, 2005, 08:21 AM Update on my stats... By the way, I didn't do a full body measurement. So here's just some vital stats I would like to share with you guys ;)
Current stats:
Height: 6'1''
Weight: 157 lbs
Bodyfat: 16 %
Abdomen: 33.5 inches
Target stats:
Height: 6'1''
Weight: 155 lbs
Bodyfat: 12%
Abdomen: 32 inches
Today's news:
I just visited my doctor for general check up, and only just now I knew that I added an inch vertically. So it's official that my height is 6'1'' :claplow: And also, I officially weight in at 157 lbs :jumping:
I've read that most of you guys are retaining a lot of water. It's funny though because I'm sure most of us (if not all) had a cheat meal yesterday, correct? But it seems that I'm pretty lean and not bloated today. Hope this continues as the days goes by. Oh, and by the way, I was hoping to reach my goal by July 1 :gl:
gidrac Wed, June 1st, 2005, 12:26 PM Hi guys, :)
I'm going to keep this simple...
Current Stats:
Height: 5'5
Weight: 145
Abdomen: 34 in
BF: ~20%
Goal Stats:
Height: 5'11
Weight: 130
Abdomen: 30 in
BF: ~10%
It's hard getting back in the grove after a long holiday weekend. This cut is just what I need! However, I will be a little slow getting back into the cardio and weight training, due to a really bad sunburn.
I am aiming for 6 clean eats a day, cardio at least 3 days a week, and weight training according to my regular schedule. I will try to check in each day and post my successes and failures. As for the measurements, I will update every seven days.
Mark. :gl:
don_1987 Thu, June 2nd, 2005, 07:02 AM Gidrac, if your target height is 5'11'', than I believe that weighting in at 130 lbs will surely put on on the underweight category
LarryNC Thu, June 2nd, 2005, 01:34 PM Told ya it was retained water! The night before day1's weigh in, I was 181, then that next morning, 178, now this morning, 173.
Gonna go out with mom and have a cheat today but will finish the day with lots of veggies and good ol' meats so it doesn't go bad on me.
don_1987 Fri, June 3rd, 2005, 06:35 AM Just want to share something with you guys... Something funny I noticed about my nutrition habit, everytime I eat outside, I always order rice and fish. If I'm hungry, I'll order 1 cup of rice, if not 1/2 cup will do fine. As for the fish, I always opt for grilled or boiled, if that's not available, I'll always order for sardines or mackerel in can instead. Why? Well, that's the safest food I can think of (in term of nutritional info) when eating out. But sometimes, i opt for beef steak and rice
By the way guys, do you track your calories? I hope you do, because if you don't mind, let's post our food intake for the week. Maybe next Wednesday? How's that sound?
gidrac Fri, June 3rd, 2005, 09:57 AM Gidrac, if your target height is 5'11'', than I believe that weighting in at 130 lbs will surely put on on the underweight category
This is true, Don. I better reconsider.
Well, my cut has not been going exactly as I intended. I am 6/6 on clean eats the past two days, but I'm lacking in the workout department due to this damn sunburn.
It's probably the worst burn I've ever had. I haven't been getting enough sleep the past few nights because of it. I have to sleep on the couch and I'm waking up several times during the night.
I haven't missed a week's worth of lifting like this since January. Hopefully, one week of complete rest will do more good than harm. I'll be back into my sets on Monday.
Mark.
LarryNC Fri, June 3rd, 2005, 12:52 PM Cheated a little yesterday with mom, weight this morning 174.
This is the food schedule plan I try to stick to:
Wake at 9am: 3 Eggs + 1c veggies.
12noon: Can 'o Chicken + 1/2 tablespoon mayo + 1c veggies + 1 slice WW bread
3pm : 6oz cooked hamburger + 1c veggies
6pm: banana + apple + 1 scoop whey
9pm: 4oz chicken + baked potato + 1c veggies
11pm: 1 cup cottage cheese + 1c veggies
don_1987 Fri, June 3rd, 2005, 09:54 PM I can't say that my diet is totally clean, because next week once I post my food log, you'll notice that in the evening, there always seems to be a cheat meal in there  I think it's safe to say that 5 out of 6 meals are clean, but the last one seems to be a bit messy :d_biggrin But I do worry not, because my calorie count and macro is still in place and balanced. So far it's still in the 2,000 kcal category.
Talking about workout, the only exercise I'm doing religiously are; pushing my lucks, jumping into conclusion and dodging deadlines
No, I'm just kidding... but seriously, the only exercise I've been doing religiously so far is walking. Not that I wanted to, but I'm so busy at school, arranging this and that (since I'm a transferee) and the compound of my new school is so large. And everybody is walking, so hell, why don't I join them :spaz:
I don't know if this is a wise move, or a dumb move, but I'm considering of doing a lot of cardio and only bodyweight exercises... Because I can only go to the gym every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. But I'll still try to manage it somehow, but the only bright light I'm seeing is the "a lot of cardio and bodyweight exercises" option only... What do you guys think?
LarryNC Sat, June 4th, 2005, 02:48 PM My best friend is coming to stay at my house for 1 full week, he likes to eat yummy foods, so I will to, just so he doesn't feel uncomfertable, hes really hefty. Lol I'll post how my meals went in a week.
Acliff Sun, June 5th, 2005, 06:19 AM I guess the trick is to do lots of weights and hope that any gain that you get is muscle :) Which I'm sure will happen.
Yesterday being saturday, and because me and my friend was bored we made a classic lasagne. Its absolutely gorgeous and theres enough left for today. However I did end up having an ice cream and a large chocolate bar after yesterday, so ho hum. Due for a weights session today, hopefully i'll have done enough revision to warrant going.
don_1987 Sun, June 5th, 2005, 07:42 AM Seems to me that during this weekend, most of you guys cheated on our diet, eh? Hahaha, well that's totally fine with me, because I just had a cheat day today :o I'll give my cheat day a name, maybe "Bread 'O Mania" suits best :eat: Well, here's the short stories of my day today...
Well it all started as a normal Sunday morning, all things were going smooth. No rush, not much stress, you know, the typical relaxing Sunday morning  Like a normal morning, I had my coffee and ate my normal healthy breakfast, rolled oats and some protein powder  Great beginning eh, well let's fast forward to lunch...
Well around 10 PM, I accompanied my mom because whe wanted to buy some clothes, curtain and rubber shoes for my little brother. After buying all the things in the list, my mom decided to buy some breads (different kinds, a lot too). I can see disaster right in front of me ready to strike any second :d_eek:
Anyway, for lunch, as you guessed, I had breads! Damn those breads, loaded with sugars, white flour, oh... it sure was a diet disaster! (But it sure did taste good  ) Anyway, breads are my binge trigger, so as these happens, until 6 PM every 2 hours so, I keep on eating different types of breads and other cheat meals.
Man, my stomach which has been depleted by a few days of eating clean seems to be retaining a fairly amount of water today as I write these. I just hope it's gone within a day or two... But then again, tomorrow is Monday, and damn sure I'll be back on my diet. That, I promise you guys :D
Kebas Sun, June 5th, 2005, 03:55 PM Am I too late to join?....Im ~15% BF, and 5'11. 170 lbs.
Recently ive been cheating alot and been disgusted, im ready to go full force. I dont know my exact measurements :(
don_1987 Mon, June 6th, 2005, 07:10 PM Hey, where did everybody gone too? I sure hope everybody is still trying to lower their bodyfat ;) Anyway guys, tomorrow is the first week of this challenge. Hope you guys wouldn't mind posting your weekly food intake and measurements. Good luck to all of us...
Kebas, there's so such word as "too late". Of course you can join in :tu:
Acliff Tue, June 7th, 2005, 04:42 PM My focus is a little off at the moment with 2 incredibly hard exams coming up. I think I'm eating pretty well, but I haven't had time to do cardio or the like. Which is a great shame, but oh well. Will be back on track shortly after exam season is over for good...
LarryNC Wed, June 8th, 2005, 01:27 AM Past days SUCKED! Ate yummy tasting food to behold that they don't taste that yummy anymore. I believe the faze of Larry eating yummy junk food is gone. I crave nutritional foods. I thank for my friend to come stay at my house but the next few days im eating healthy while hes here (I'm sure he doesn't mind!) and then getting back on track.
don_1987 Wed, June 8th, 2005, 03:27 AM I know what you mean Larry, I'm with you all the way bro...
Anyway, it's time for my weekly update... I'm proud to say, that out of 7 days, I managed to eat a sensible, healthy and nutritious meals for 6 days. :claplow: Unfortunately, I had a cheat day last Sunday which costs me around 3,000 kcal plus. :(
Anyhow, for this past week, my goal was to eat sensible and healthy meals with a 2,000 kcal budget daily. I paid less attention on the mcaro breakdown though, but you'll see in my log that it's usually 50-20-30 (c-p-f). And also, you'll see a little cheat meal here and there, usually an oatmeal cookie. :o
For information, over the past week, I haven't been able to go to the gym. Yeah, I know it's bad, but hey, that's life, you win some, you lose some. But instead, I did a lot of walking here and there. That's why, I haven't see much progress yet, but I'm sure I'm heading the right track :tu:
My plan for next week is to do mostly calisthenic exercise at home before I go to school (after breakfast), and focus more on my macro rather than reducing calories. So I'll stick with 2,000 kcal, but I'll increase my protein intake and lower my fat intake. I'm shooting for a 50-30-20 (c-p-f). If still no progress, then I'll reduce calorie intake :tucool:
By the way, be sure to check my food log! And don't forget to post your's too :D
Acliff Wed, June 8th, 2005, 02:29 PM <cheat break>
A lasagne verdi and a full tub of Haagen Daz pralines and cream is absolutely delicious!!
</cheat break>
A commiseration present to myself after having a terrible exam day :)
don_1987 Wed, June 8th, 2005, 07:37 PM Oh.. My.. God!!! :spaz: I can't believe my luck! This Friday, my college is giving us (transferee) an aquintance party. It's supposed to be a grill party, but I can only imagine some delicious food out there
Well, this would be easy if I just call it a cheat day/meal, right? But I can't because I just had my cheat day yesterday! :( Oh well, all action has it's consequence. So I'll try to be as good as I can come Friday. And hey! Who said having fun is all about eating?! I'm gonna have fun with some chicks, rather then with some grilled chicken! :D
don_1987 Wed, June 8th, 2005, 09:10 PM Hi guys! I would like to take this post as an opportunity to make a commitment to you guys who are in this challenge! I would like to make a commitment that today, Thursday; June 09 2005, I will go the gym and workout! :db:
Hahaha  I know that it may sound silly, but I just like to make a commitment because it makes me that much harder to break it. So hopefully, no matter how bad-mooded or how tired I will be later in the afternoon, I'll still take an hour or so to head to the gym and workout.
I'm planning to do a cardio, followed by a "push" workout. I'll post you guys with the result of my commitment later. Have a great day :gl:
gidrac Thu, June 9th, 2005, 09:29 AM Hi guys, :)
You all seem to be hangin in there. Keep it up. :tu:
Well, my sunburn has healed and I managed to get back into my cardio and weight training routine. My diet still could use some cleaning.
After one month of waiting on a project at work, two hit me at the same time. Not fun. Working long hours and less sleep gives me bad cravings and I tend to over do it at a meal. Less sleep also kills my performance in the gym. I must work on that.
Current Stats:
Height: 5'5
Weight: 144
Abdomen: 33.5 in
BF: ~20%
Mark.
don_1987 Thu, June 9th, 2005, 08:37 PM Well good news and bad news for me! Good news is, I managed to go to the gym yesterday, as promised. But I have to admit that my current gym sucks and I really need to a find a better one :(
Bad news is, I'm having the same problem as Gidrac is... A lot of stress, less sleep, too much work and too little time. It's as if 24 hours ain't enough!
I know this may not be a wise move, butI just realized that over the past 3 days my diet sucks! I have a bad habit that every evening, after a long tiring day at work/school, rather than relax I would eat. Eat a lot of unhealthy, calorie dense food :( So I decided, that I would fast for 3 days or so and try to calm my soul again  I really hope this works... I'll keep in touch with you guys!
Acliff Thu, June 9th, 2005, 10:12 PM Due to exam stress, my housemate seems to have caught an infectious disease. Which now, unfortunately I seem to have contracted. He's finished his exams now, but with my final one left tomorrow, I feel absolutely ghastly. I've decided the best course of action is to stay awake, for the next 6 hours, take the 2 hour exam and then crash out afterwards. It gives me enough time to cram, drink coffee, etc.
If I fell asleep now, I reckon I would not get up in time for the exam anyway.
If i don't contribute to this challenge for a while, its probably because I'm in bed. :(
don_1987 Fri, June 10th, 2005, 10:16 PM Guys, I see most of us are having trouble this week, eh? :d_biggrin And I thought I was the only one having difficulty in making progress! Well for me, it's more of a nutritional problem (overeating and stuff...) and lack of weight training. The only thing I'm doing now is a lot of walking, but that doesn't seem to help a lot! :(
I know tis has been a rough week for some of us, and I surely hope that next week will be better. What I'm saying is this, for the first week, I'm doing fine, but this week, I think I blew it! Men, I really hope and wish that next week will be better. Heck, I won't even wait 'till Wednesday, I'll start as early as Monday. I'll start of by dropping calories to 1,800 kcal. Good luck to me, and to all of you! :gl:
LarryNC Sun, June 12th, 2005, 11:02 PM I'm back, and the last post I said I was gonna eat better, and I did, I only had a few small cheats. Will be totally back on track by tomarrrow. Can't wait! My cardio machine comes on wed! Cobalt Flux Dance Pad!!!!!! :spaz: :spaz: :spaz:
don_1987 Mon, June 13th, 2005, 05:14 AM Just some info about my curent situation. Well, like mentioned in some of my previous post in this thread, I'm having some problem in term of regular exercise and nutrition. So anyway, I decided to start everything again today; Monday, June 13, 2005. And I also joined the "6 week cut challenge" which officially started today. I plan to reduce calorie intake to 1,800 kcal per day. I don't count macros, only the total calories. Hopefully this will be a succesfull attempt and I really hope to reach my goal soon. Well, like always, after this week, I'll post again my new food log
don_1987 Tue, June 14th, 2005, 08:07 PM This challenge is still on, right? I sure hope that you guys are still working hard to lower your bodyfat, 'cause I knkow I am! :db:
Anyway, latest update on my nutritional status... Over the past two days, my calorie intake is about 1,800 kcal. I'm feeling a bit hungry on that intake, especially for breakfast. But I think a little bit of hunger is a good sign...
gidrac Wed, June 15th, 2005, 11:03 AM Hey guys, :)
Week 3 check in. Unfortuantely, stats are steady, but I have been eating clean and upping the weights. If I restrict my caloric intake, even just 500 calories, I never seem to up the weights. However, I must drop body fat.
I tend to lean toward a combined cut/bulk. I understand it will take a lot longer this way. But, that's ok. So, my focus for this week will be portion control.
Keep it up,
Mark. :tu:
Current Stats:
Height: 5'5
Weight: 144
Abdomen: 33.5 in
Acliff Thu, June 16th, 2005, 07:28 PM Well, having finished university and recovered mostly from my ills, I am very very poor and can't afford the gym. I have basically myself, an adjustable dumbell (all i could manage to bring back from uni), and jump rope, and a chin up bar.
Tomorrow at work, when I'm really bored, I'll come up with some ingenious workout incorporating those, with the inclusion of very HIIT twice a week. I need to become supremely fit, and fat loss will be a secondary benefit of the process.
I've eaten clean today, 2 egg omelette for breakfast, cycle to work, 2 pieces of fruit, a beef sandwich for lunch, a protein bar as a snack, about 500 calories of dinner, and a protein shake just before bed. From tomorrow I start doing much more exercise.
don_1987 Mon, June 20th, 2005, 01:34 AM Hi guys! My damn CPU broke so it's been quite some time since I visit JSF! But today, I have a vacant subject, so I decided to visit via internet cafe.
Anyway, for update, my second week ain't that pretty but sure this third week is in check. I've reduced my calorie intake to approximately 1,800 kcal per day. The scale ain't moving up nor down, but I'm happy to say that most of the water weight seems to be peeling of. My abdomen is getting smaller and I'm feeling full sooner. So overeall, I'd say it's a good progress so far, not to mention that my food choices ain't that clean :D Anyway, I'll post again my food log once I've repaired my computer.
Oh, by the way, yesterday was Sunday, so I decided that it was gonna be my cheat day. And though my everyday meal seems like a cheat :d_biggrin But when I say "cheat day", I mean eating foods I desired and not worriying about calories. My cheat day started as an ordinary day. In fact I even lift weights and did an intense cardio an hour or two before my cheat meal. Anyway, today I'm regaining a bit water around my abdomen. But overall I feel happy :)
Have a nice day! :tu:
LarryNC Mon, June 20th, 2005, 07:35 PM Things been going pretty good, have not been on the scale in awhile tho, but feeling and looked a little trimmer. Trying to get things really tuned up so I can really drop the weight. :D
Take it easy!
Acliff Tue, June 21st, 2005, 01:46 PM Due to my still problematic lack of money, I've decided for the time being at least to do a modified version of the navy seals workout. Modified in the sense that I'm starting about 6 weeks into it with 4 sets of 30 pushups, 4 sets of 40 situps, 2 sets of 5 chinups, 2 sets of 5 pullups.
I can do a lot more of each as a 1 set max, but these multiple sets are hurting me (in the best way) With running in the morning, it should be good.
I have come to the realisation that my mum likes to cook for me too much for me to make the kind of progress I was looking forward to this holiday.
don_1987 Tue, June 21st, 2005, 10:52 PM Guys, my computer is still down, so I still can't post my food log. But anyway, just a quick update. Last week, my calorie intake was 1,800 kcal and the result is my abdomen is now at 33.5 inches and shrinking (mostly was water weight when it was at 34.. :o ) Anyway, this following week I'm planning to drop it into 1,600 kcal daily. I'll post you with the results later.
Have a nice day!
