I currently enjoy drinking green tea in the morning for the caffine boost and am contemplating drinking another cup post-dinner, however, I am worried about digesting too much caffine and developing a dependence. How much is too much? Each serving of tea contains around 110 mg of caffine (around 8oz of coffee).

You could develop a dependence on one cup a day...and if you drink more at night then it'll keep you up later. But you'll probably still have to wake up at the same time for your job or whatever, and you'll end up drinking more and more in the morning, or at the very least, you'd surely become dependent. Not to mention you'd end up with a huge sleep debt because you keep staying up at night.
I wouldn't drink caffeine on a regular basis at night...why do you need a caffeine boost at night? Unless you're trying to stay up for some reason, I can't really see the benefit. Even if you can fall asleep after one cup, it's not as deep/refreshing of a sleep.

I drink coffee every morning, and I mean every! I don't know if it's a habit or dependancy to coffee, 'cause my day ain't seem right without a cup of coffee in the morning. Sometimes I drink coffee in the afternoon too for pre-workout. But before bed? That doesn't seem right. For the average person, you'll have trouble falling into sleep...

I meant around 6pm or so at the latest, though, it sounds as if more than one might not be really useful. I'll keep up one in the morning for a boost and use exercise as a boost in the late afternoon. Thank you for the replies.

Wise decision :tu: By the way, it's advisable to take your last caffeine dosage as early as 4 PM, in order to avoid the effect before you go to bed.

I put 3 green tea packets into half a gallon of water when I lift at around 6 pm (about 5ish hoursb efore bed) Contains about 175 mg of caffine, and I'm totally fine, thats prob because I only drink caffine half of the days in my week.
