So I'm going food shopping and I was hoping for some good ideas/suggestions on food to buy for a guy who is single, lives in a studio and doesn't have a stove/oven. I'm looking for food that either doesn't need to be cooked or can be prepared via microwave - Here is what I have in mind:
Tuna Fish
Oatmeal
Water
Balance Bars?
crackers (or bread?)
Bananas (the only fruit I really like)

I was also thinking of buying a bunch of those lean cusine meals and tossin' them into the freezer. Thanks for the suggestions y'all!
You should know that I don't place a premium on variety - just as long as it's consumable I'll eat or at least try it. exception: Tofu and Sushi.

One more question - what do you guys think about those frozen fish patties that you microwave? I haven't read the boxes yet so i'm not sure of their nutrition value. thanks again

I don't have an oven/stove either.

tuna, oatmeal, and bananas sound good. if you have clean water at home, i'd use that. crackers and balance bars - i dunno. crackers typically have too much bad fats, and balance bars - if they taste good and work with your diet, cool.

Staples of my diet:

Fat Free Carb Countdown Milk (0g fat, 3g carbs, 12g protein for 70 calories)
Pepsi One
Natural Peanut Butter
FF Ham
FF Chese
Small bottles of POM for pre-workout/post-workout
Low Fat, Low Carb Beef Jerky

If I ate more carbs, I'd buy boil-in-bag rice (which can be microwaved) + Seseme Oil and make 2 cups rice w/ 1 tsp-tbsp seseme oil. I'd also go with more nuts and black beans, which have too much fat & carbs for me right now, but they're good for some people (who eat more calories).

fish patties that you microwave?

Those only taste good when you cook them in an oven.

Really, can't you get a toaster oven? Or an electric stove (the one burner portable kind)? Or a rice cooker? Or a crock pot? Or a..... pile of firewood and an iron skillet? (I take zero responsibility for any property or personal damages incurred from following this advice)

If you have a freezer, then get some frozen vegetable blocks. Broccoli, spinach, et al. If you get the microwaveable fish blocks, I believe the instructions require you to also have wax paper on hand for cooking purposes, so double check that.

You could get a microwave rice cooker. They are relatively inexpensive and they are great! I have a stove but I prefer to cook rice in the microwave, its fuss free! Take a look at the link below.
