Hi,
This is my first time posting :)

I workout at the gym in the mornings. After my workouts, I usually dont go home for a few hours.

I am in need of some ideas of good foods to bring to eat in the car. I have brought hard boiled eggs, apples, and string cheese, but I am getting really tired of those options. :p

Does anyone have any suggestions for some other carbs and proteins that are easy to eat in the car?

Thanks in advance :D

Have you considered some sort of shake in a thermos? A good protein/carb PWO shake would be great, and you can make some really delicious ones, too. They are usually thick enough to be quite satisfiying.

Hi, I actually drink a shake before I work out for that is all I can stomach. SO I wasnt sure if it would be a good idea to have a shake preworkout and post workout?
What do you think?

Thanks so much :)

I wouldn't see any problem with that, as long as you are getting the nutrients that you need. I'm not very experienced, however, so maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong.

What I usually do is a protein shake (chocolate whey in skim milk) when I wake up, before I work out. Then another protein shake after, but with a bowl of oatmeal. Some days I just dump the oats into the milk and chug it :P I have the same problem you do, if I eat anything before a work out I usually get sick. Shakes work well to avoid this problem.

after a workout you should drink protein shakes because the body absorbs the protein quicker than food. Wait an hour then eat.

try having some carbs before a workout, like oatmeal. I find I last alot longer in the gym, but thats me, then maybe pack a shake and some food afterwords.. Maybe pack yourself a chicken salad for a hour or so after and a protein shake right after? If you have one of those Glad containers it might make a tasty "brunch" or what not. What I do for lunch somtimes is I make a meal put it in a container and eat it for lunch. I brought a turkey sandwich, sweet potato, and kashi granola bar for lunch...love my sweet potatoes. I'm not the best for meal ideas but give it a try if ya like sweet potatoes.
