Hey guys

I am currently doing an HST cycle and I eat between 2400-2800 calories a day, all clean, 40/40/20 ratios, all my carbs come from Dextrose, fruits, vegetables, oats, potatoes, beans, and brown rice, but the problem is I am feeling extremely fatigued whenever I play soccer in the mornings?

I get a good night's rest and I eat over 300g of carbs a day, why am I feeling so tired? I suspect it has to do something with the fact I eat so much protein.

In the morning before I go play, I eat a big bowl of oats plus beans so I get plently of carbohydrates.

Soccer is a pretty intense sport and goes for 90 mins a game, how can I adjust my diet to still incorporate protein for "mass building" and carbs for soccer? (assuming this is the cause?)

how much protein do you eat?? also you could try sprinkling 30 grams of whey protein powder on your morning cereal and add some milk or water and mix it up.. I eat it that way.

maybe try eating clean, all other days, but on the day before and of the game try upping the carbs, since you will be more active, they should cancel out.

try carb loading for dinner the night before, a big plate of spaghetti bolognese. then oats for breakfast. normal everyday food during the day as well as consuming gatorade (or equivalent) around and during the game.

this should not be needed for training as it is not as intense.

Just a suggestion.

I have been thinking of "carb loading" but I'm not 100% clear on how to do it. When do you eat the carbs and how much?

you are basically staurating your body and muscles with energy.

i know endurance athletes start loading about 3-4 days before an event.

you could probably do it the night and morning before, depending on when your game is. if it is in the afternoon, have oats for brekkie. if the game is mid morning have a light brekkie.

two articles to get you started i just saerched and got these try using google, there is a lot of information, even sample food plans
