I only eat chicken, fish, yougurt, oatmeal, salads, dressings, protein bars/mix.
And i only drink water.
I have stopped amost 100% with bread, chips, tortillas, and high card items.
What im wondering is, should i be counting carbs to removes more of them.

there is to an extent at which carbs may become a problem.
the most important thing to note is the type of carbs you consume, not the total amount.
carbs are one vital thing for muscle growth.
i frown upon low carb diets like atkins/ckd.. just horrible for a lifestyle and building mass.. not to mention its so harsh on your body
runar2 Sat, January 24th, 2004, 05:13 AM I count them.
eating about 1800Kcal a day.
Lunch and Dinner trying to stay between 40-60% Carbs.
Breakfast 60-70% Carbs.
JazzyJersey Sat, January 24th, 2004, 10:23 AM I count calories and protein, only. If you have the stamina, couting all your nutrients is best. For me, since I eat such a wide variety of foods, I found couting fat, sat fat, sugar, sodium, etc. too cumbersome.
If you're cutting, the main thing is stay below your maintenance calories and ensure your protein stays near 1 x your body weight so you don't loose too much hard earned muscle. The rest (counting carbs etc.) is gravy.
Cheers!

Ahhh, something I agree with you on. Like he said, carbs are important to muscle growth, especially post-workout. But I do count my carbs and try to limit myself to the amount due to the fact that I am trying to reduce my BF%. But by no means am I following an Atkins style diet. I too feel it's very harsh for your body.

"...if you're not eating enough carbohydrates, your body will start breaking down precious muscle tissue for glucose."
i think this article shows how important carbs can be.
Glamdring Sun, January 25th, 2004, 10:19 AM I just started cutting a 1.5 weeks ago and am only concerning myself with caloric intake at this time. I eat wholesome foods and take whey. That's about it.
With that being said, if/when I hit a wall, the first thing I will look to reduce from the diet will be some of the carbs. I'm sure I could switch my lunch from a sandwich on whole wheat to a sandwich on a low-carb tortilla shell, etc.
haven97 Sun, January 25th, 2004, 05:32 PM I count carbs but always try to keep my protein intake higher than my carb intake. I do this when choosing my meals in advance and if i am way over on carbs then i add a can of tuna to even it out.
