Chameleon Wed, May 11th, 2005, 04:17 PM I'm having a hard time getting 128 oz a day. and suggestions on what I can do if anything to flavor the water and be healthy? you can add lemon juice and a few packets of splenda... it'll make it taste a bit like lemon aid... but you'll find that after you start drinking a lot of water that your body will start to crave it and it won't be any trouble getting enough... I drank more than 200 oz yesterday with no problem Bluestreak Wed, May 11th, 2005, 04:17 PM Lemon juice. Or just learn to drink water. It's one of the big keys to success. Get a water bottle. Carry it with you everywhere you go. The wife and I have a pair of Nissan Thermos that work great. They keep water ice cold for hours. I average about 180-ozs. a day, and I'm 142-lbs. -R wh0rume Wed, May 11th, 2005, 04:22 PM It's something you'll get used to. Drink it against your will for 2 or 3 days straight and you should be fine. when i started cutting, i had to switch from moutain dew to water. it was tough at first, but i got used to it. now moutain dew tastes like trash to me. water (with an occasional diet coke) is the only liquid that goes into my body, and it's been that way for almost a year now. oulike2lift2 Wed, May 11th, 2005, 04:26 PM Lemon juice. I quit doing 6 cans of mountian dew about 2 months ago and now not drinking even 1 a week to strictly drinking water been a rough transition. wh0rume Wed, May 11th, 2005, 04:32 PM buy a pack of "Fruit2O" (i like rasberry the best) You'll love it, and it will ease the transition. it did for me. jefe Wed, May 11th, 2005, 04:37 PM I actually do ok during the week. I have a 16oz bottle, and just make sure I drink one every hour. Not too bad when you break it down like that. I only have maybe a glass or two after 5pm though, no reason to be up 10x every night. I have a harder time getting as much on the weekends, but now that I have been doing it more I do find my body craving water more and so it's getting better then too. Champagne Wed, May 11th, 2005, 04:37 PM Until I got married I never, I mean never, drank water. All we ever drank in my house was soda and orange juice. Water is all that my father-in-law drinks so it gradually grew on me. I can't belive that I now drink a gallon a day. You'll get used to it. My wife went to the salon to get her hair cut and they sliced up oranges and put them in a pitcher of water. She said it was better than lemons or lemon juice. I think any fresh fruit would be good, except maybe bananas :d_eek: Sheaamatic Thu, May 12th, 2005, 01:59 AM I dont know if it is just me, but i find I drink at least a litre(minimum) of tea a day and dont even realize it..... I usually have 2 cups of tea(usually green) in the morning, 1 at work, 1 after work and one at night....That must add up to at least a litre or litre and a half...which makes it really easy to get your water intake.... I remember when i 1st started drinking water, i would sit and force down a 2 litre bottle, then have to piss every 5 minutes(or wake up all night) ..Kinda humourous SWAT Thu, May 12th, 2005, 02:04 AM I formerly worked a restaurant where i had unlimited access to the soda fountain. One day when i was feeling pretty fat (because i was pretty fat) i had a realization. I was ingesting over 2000 calories per day in soda alone (not to mention all the greasy, fried, disgusting foods). That was the day i switched to water, ive fallen off the wagon a few times and i do enjoy a good soda but i try religiously to drink as much water as i possibly can per day, just think about the 140 calories per 12 oz. can of soda...thats what changed things for me... don_1987 Thu, May 12th, 2005, 02:48 AM Yeah, drinking plain water only may suck at first. It taste pretty bland, doesn't it? Well actually, that's because out taste bud has already gotten used to sweet taste, whether from food or drinks. It may sound difficult, but if you manage to drink only plain water for a few days, your taste bud will adjust without you even noticing it. using splenda to your water may not be that beneficial because your taste bud won't get accustomize to the "palin" taste of water. I think it's better to go cold turkey for a few days. After that, it's all worth it :tu: Primetime Thu, May 12th, 2005, 08:56 AM Start with some 4c light low calorie Ice Tea mix! 2 tsp = 15 cal, 0g fat, 0mg sodium, 4g carbs, surgar=0, protien =0 Pretty soon you will get sick of the taste, you will want just plain water! |
