I had feta cheese for the first time yesterday on a salad and loved it! Just wondering if this in ok to eat (in moderation of course) while cutting?
THanks! :)

Personally I love it too. There are fat free varieties that are not bad at all unlike most fat free cheeses which are shipped to us from Hades.

I have Gorgonzola cheese on my salads about 3-5 times a week. A salad isn't a salad w/o it for me.

Feta cheese is one of the best cheesses in its natural form. Per 100g, it has about 30g fat and 20g protein, as well as about 500mg calcium. However, its still quite high in fat and sodium for most people but the fat free versions usually have the same amount of protein & calcium and some added carbs.

Feta cheese comes in all flavors, even low-fat ones. Normal feta cheese is 18 to 24% and you can find 3% feta too (not that it tastes anything :p ).

What you would want to check out is also the amount of salt added to the package, since for feta cheese it can be enormous...

I would also recomment Mozarella cheese, especially the natural buffalo variant. Low fat ofcourse.
