I'm new here... hello. My name is Shane. I'm 19 in 10 days. Today on the scale I weight 165.
That is five pounds over what is acceptable for me to weigh (though 155 is what I consider to be my right weight, 150 preferable), without wanting to cut off pieces of myself with a razor blade (not that I do this, but I become very disgusted with myself, anyway.)
At one point in my life I was very much more overweight, not just wanting to lose "vanity pounds" or tone mucsle. I weighed about 240 and got it down very low very quickly in a manner that was very unhealthy. Since then, I've gained a little of that weight back. I don't like it. I want it to go away again, except I don't want to be dying.
I'm quite the newb when it comes to fitness and nutrition for someone who lost an amount of weight that is mentionable... I don't know what to eat. I don't want to just not eat. When I don't eat at all without drugs, I usually just end up binge eating a couple days later... That's not good at all.
What, basically, is relevant to say about calories and calories from fat for a dieting person? What foods can I eat that are larger in mass (to fill my stomach so that I can not eat for longer), with no fat calories and little calories period, i guess? Are calories that are not from fat not a big deal for a dieter or are they just as important?
I eat a lot of light yogurt, salads withs the light amounts of the fat free italian dressing... what other things can I eat? I don't really have any ideas and I'm starting to get tired of those things.
I want to gain muscle without gaining fat. They say proteins are good when you want to gain muscle, but things like that are usually high in fat calories so I can't eat that at all. I want to gain muscle to burn the fat that I have away. heh.
Also... I like to drink diet sodas with no calories to fill my stomach up to help me not eat for longer amounts of time. I was wondering if other contents... like fake sugars or whatever... in these sodas make that... not work, in the end.
Advice? Suggestions? Anything?
