View Full Version : Take a look at my daily foods, please.
LarryNC Sun, May 8th, 2005, 02:09 PM Does this look good to you? I am not worrying on the macros. Carbs are the highest, then coems the protein and then the fats. Calorie totals at about 1800-2100 depending on portion sizes.
How does this look?
7:30 am: 2 pieces WW bread / 2 table spoon peanut butter / scoop of whey
10am: 2 apples / 1 scoop of whey
12 noon: 2.5c skim milk
1:30pm chicken salad sandwich w/ table spoon of mayo
3pm lean meat + potato + mixed veggies
Work (5 hours of service clerk), or WT (Depending the day)
6pm 2 bananas / 1 scoop of whey
9pm slice ww bread w/ 1 tablespoon pb / half scoop of whey
Also about 180 ounces water per day, with a super vita boost vitamin.
I believe I can cut on this diet, but I just want to see what everyone else thinks.
Thanks!
Demon Knight Sun, May 8th, 2005, 05:18 PM Work out how many grams of protein/carbs/fat you're getting. You can cut with ANY diet as long as you are using more calories than you are consuming. Theoretically, you could lose weight eating cabbage every meal. But this forum is about getting fit, not just getting thin. I would suggest around 1.5-2g of protein per kg of bodyweight and at least 20% fat from your total calories. I think the bacon is probably too high in sodium and fat. The diet looks ok but I'm guessing you're not getting that much protein.
LarryNC Mon, May 9th, 2005, 12:20 AM Ok broken down:
7:30 am: 42g protein / 28g carbs / 20g fat
10am: 22g protein / 2g fat / 52g carbs
12 noon: 20g protein / 22 carbs
1:30pm 35g protein / 12g fat / 25g carbs
3pm 25g protein / 30g carbs / 5g fat
Work (5 hours of service clerk), or WT (Depending the day)
6pm 21g protein / 52 carbs / 2g fat
9pm 30g protein / 25 carbs / 8g fat
protein 194g(776 calories) carbyhydrates 237g(948 calories) fat 52g(468 calories)
totals: p / c / f
35/43/22
Added a scoop of whey to my fruit meals.
don_1987 Mon, May 9th, 2005, 03:35 AM Seems like a good diet to me... Especially the breakdown of the macros :tu:
If you really need some suggestion, well like Demon Knight said earlier, exchange the bacon for something healthier/leaner. The bread, is it sugar free? Does it raises your insulin? If not then it's fine, otherwise exchange it to sugar-free or eat brown rice instead.
And one more thing, are you still feeling hungry? I can see that your meal are mostly calorie dense (ex:bread and PB), maybe you can change them into something more filling and satisfying. But if you don't feel hungry, then I think it's fine :gl:
LarryNC Mon, May 9th, 2005, 10:32 AM I don't feel too hungry if I eat at the right times. I updated my meal plans a little at the top again, also updated the macros. The bread is natures own so it doesn't look like it has alot of sugar.
jsbrook Mon, May 9th, 2005, 10:47 AM It looks like way too much whey to me. Sorry for the corny joke. In all seriousness, I think it would be better to get more protein from whole foods. Try to cut the whey down to post-workout and maybe one other time a day when you need something quick and easy. Replace with whole foods. Any of those meals a PWO meal? None look particularly optimal for one.

Only reason for the extra whey is for extra protein and calories, I would get more proten from wholefoods, but they are either too difficult for me to cook on my schedule, or they are crazy sodiumized.
Basically my pwo meal should be 2 bananas and a scoop of whey, I didn't make it like that but it seemed to work out good, I lift at around 6, and that meal is there.
Overtime I will update my foods, maybe try other kinds of foods to make it more 'complete'.. to me this meal plan was more complete than yesterdays, so little steps forward work for me.
