and he's not even my cat. He's a stray cat that hangs around (literally here). I think his owner moved away and left him because he's friendly enough to let you pat him but no one knows who he belongs to.

So far he's survived the bitter winter and outsmarted the coyotes.

We already have 5 cats and don't need another one. Yeah I know 5 is too many but when I met my wife she had 3 and I had 2 so ...

My female cat, Trouble, has turned into an attack cat, she keeps attacking the other cats so we keep them separated. But here in this picture, see below the window, after seeing Orange Kitty she ran across the room and practically jumped through the glass trying to attack him.

call the animal shelter or ask people in the neighbour hood if they want a cat...

the same thing happened to me...i had this super nice cat always hanging around my house, not mangy or anything...i would come home from work and he would be sleeping in my recycling box, and i woould pet him...

but when winter rolled around we saw him shivring outside, so we felt bad and said he would let him in to sleep, but yeah that didnt happen...

2 years later and he has taken over the house...best thing that even happened to the family.

Aww. Poor kitty. You should let it in and then keep it until someone wants it or call the local animal clinics and ask if they know of anyone wanting a friendly kitty.

i have a cat of my own and a few of the neighbors cats roam the neighborhood. one of the neighbors cats decided to climb in my car and spray. i still cant get the smell completely out. i left my sons car seat out for a miunte while i ran in to get the keys and he sprayed that too. im tired of seeing cat pee on my cars rims and tires. the same cat got in my house one time and fought my cat right in my bedroom. not an easy one break up. im not too fond of those cats.

When we first moved in we wondered who owned the cat and asked everyone around us and nobody knew. At that point we didn't want to take him in case he was someone's cat.

Then as winter came on we thought about it again but learned that a neighbor was letting him in her house on cold nights. In addition we built a little house out of a big box with blankets in it and he slept in it on a few occasions.

Food isn't a problem for him since everyone seems to feed him.

Since he's such an out door cat I think the shelter would be really tough for him because when they take new cats in they have to quaranteen them for 90 or so days.

Plus he's friendly too a point, he'll let you pet him but after a few mins but then he'll take a swipe at you and try to bite you so he wouldn't be good with kids.

And finally our local shelter is always full so I don't want to take him in, have him live in a cage for 90 days and then be put to sleep. He's a happy cat, I often come home and he's curled up on my porch furniture. For the time being I'm content with letting things be as they are. When winter comes we'll look at the situation again.

That sucks and I don't know if you can ever get that smell out completely.

I had a cat that I think the owners left when they moved hanging around the last rental house I had.

I finally snapped when a night was cold and starting to rain, the poor thing came to the window of my computer room while Anastasia's "Left Outside Alone" was on the radio!

Couldnt leave her outside after that!
