how do you guys dismount from doing dumbbell presses on a decline bench?
dropping the weights at my side just doesn't seem safe.

if it's a flat bench db press I bring the weight near my ribs at the bottom of the lift and then use my legs as momentum to get myself up

this is impossible to do in a decline bc your legs are locked under the rollers.

how do you safely get off the decline bench when doing DB presses?

I personally don't favor on decline especially on heavy sets, it almost got me killed  literally... Anyway, control the weights at all time, no dropping allowed, but since you're on a decline position, there's nothing much you can do if you don't have a spotter but to put the weights at your side, slowly... ;) Again, if you're going heavy, it's better to stick with the incline or flat bench, you have greater chance of keeping you head on
