What I like about the Internet is that there is a level of anonymity that allows us to discuss topics that we would otherwise be unable to do. Four years ago I became addicted, developed a bad image disorder, which lead to an eating disorder. This problem has ruined/controlled my life for the last 4 years and I am ready to get my life back. When I finished high school I was in shape, had low body fat, and most importantly was happy with myself. Now I hate who I am and what I have become. I’ve become fed up with it. I want to get myself back in gear, back to having a normal life. I’ve decided to post my pics to keep me honest and accountable for my actions. It’s time to undo my wrongs. My stats:
Age 22
Weight 164.8 lbs
BF % 21.8 according to my scale
Waist 91.5 cm
Goal: To lose weight, be healthy and one day look back at these pics and think ‘I’m so happy that episode of my life is over’

Great luck man! It looks like you have the body type for huge muscle gains! :tucool: You'll have a 6-pak before you know it and your pecs should grow very nicely. I'm glad you found this forum. The people here are very supportive and give great advice. Anytime you start to feel a little down, just throw up a little post and people will be there. Goodluck and let us know how everything's going!!! :gl:

When you say you became addicted do you mean to the internet or something else?

It looks like you could have some pretty nice arms and chest without a whole lot of training. Give it a few months and you should definitely see good results. You mentioned that you want to lose weight but I'm curious what you're planning to do. Just eat differently? Weight training? Cardio? The Grapefruit diet? :p

Ive noticed that many people who used to be fit for a period of time in their lives (IE fit through high school) and gain weight later have an easier time loosing the weight and regaining their shape. Im assuming you will have the same thing. Anyways - Good luck!

Thanks for the support guys, it's why I joined to forum and posted my pics. Firstly I need to find a gym in my area. I'm going for a total change. Start logging my intake, hitting the weights and busting my butt with cardio. Weights I'm thinking 3 days/week plan alternating between bi-tri-pecs-squat, back-shoulders-leg. Abs every lifting day. Good plan or bad?

A two day split is fine, but I would question squatting on day one and working legs on day two. I would tweak it this way:

Day 1: Chest, Triceps, Biceps
Day 2: Legs (starting w/squats), Back, Shoulders

Everyday: Abs and calves

My preference with shoulders is to work front delts with chest by doing presses and front/side laterals. On the day I work back I would hit rear delts with bent over lateral raises.

The above split puts a lot of emphasis on chest and arms by giving them an entire workout, and your day 2 workout will be pretty challenging. I would consider a three day split over 5 to 7 days like this:

Day 1: Chest, Triceps
Day 2: Legs, Biceps
Day 3: Back, Shoulders
Everyday: Abs/Calves

This is pretty much the way I do it so I guess I'm a bit biased. A lot of people work biceps after back but I find that my bi's are too tired after working back.

Good luck finding a good gym.

Well it's been about a week (I know, not much, but people who just start off on the journey think it's a big deal) and I don't know if I've lost or not. I haven't found a gym, but I've been eating healthy, counting cals. That's the first step. A question for you: Does anyone know a good site where I can find calorie/protein/ect info on foods? I life in Europe so cups and 1 serving doesn't work. We do things by 100 grams here. Any help?

a lot of members here use www.fitday.com for this. You can set up an account there and track all of the foods you eat. I'm pretty sure that it will meet your metric needs too.
Also, great job on a week of clean eating!

You can also get a heck of a workout just using your bodyweight. Do a search on the forums and your bound to find what you need to get running on that. Heck you can even purchase an HKR (Hanging Knee Raise) and get a great way to do abs, triceps, and pullup\chinups on. That way you can get started without the gym. :tu:

try www.calorieking.com You can change the portion amounts to grams and it will give it to you in the form of a nutrition facts label.

Dude, I'm in the exact same situation except it's been a year of hell, not four. I empathize with you. My image was ripped and fit for four years then muscle loss and fifteen pounds of fat; the girls turned away and my friends started the fat jokes. AHHH!!!! While this might not sound drastic, it's devastating to become so obssessed with one's image and body; which I have been and now and trying to get out of.
I wish you the best of luck in your attempt to regain your life!!! You're only 22 (I'm only 20) and we've got DECADES of life to live to the fullest w/o the damaging effects of depression over our image. Four-sixth months should change you, and me, back to our old selves. Again, good luck.
