Hi All!

Well here I am, ready to embark on a new journey. I've just started out at my local gym, hoping to move into my next phase of fitness and wellbeing. My journey started a couple of years ago. At 120kg and a bit of a couch potato I needed to do something. My 40th birthday was fast approaching.

Here's me at that point:

Yup - I was on the tubby side all right.

Anyway a good few months of hard work and good eating saw me shed 30kg which I have managed to maintain for all this time. I'm very proud of my achievements so far.

I'm now ready for my next big step. I've taken to the gym and want to get rid of the last of my spare tyre! My scales put me at 26% BF, calipers at 21% BF. I'm not really sure what to think about that, I know I need to lose a bit more yet though. Any comments about the BF% would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a couple of snaps taken just now. As you can see a bit different from above, but still needs considerable work. I'm 5' 10" and currently weigh 93.2kg.

I've only been going to the gym for a week now, so I'm hoping some improvements are on the way. Hopefully putting this up will motivate me to improve. My goal for now is to get the BF% down to mid to low teens.
I've just started my learning journey into proper fitness nutrition and this community seems a valuable resource.

Best wishes to you all and hope to see you around the forum. I'm planning on sticking around for a while.

Cheers,
Groomy.

Excellent progress. I know how hard it is to get your body to respond when you are over 40, so this is especially impressive. Congrats!

Just updated with a couple of progress picks. Not too much difference you can see in the photos, but I'm not as "thick" through my mid-section.
