I'm at work now and bored to death once again. I was just wondering if anyone else is stuck at the office on a Saturday.

I've found Sat. especially boring since forum traffic goes down, and there are no new posts to read through. I swear I refresh this page a hundred times a day on Saturday. Kinda sucks since everyone else is out doing things on such a nice day! It's Sunny and 80' outside.

- Just bored...

Err... that sucks. At least you get part of the day. I'm stuck inside from 6am to 6pm.

Guess I'm the only one here working on Saturdays.

But I usually stay pretty busy.

I get to field fun fun topics like:

I just updated my server's service pack to SP4, and now my adaptec controller is reporting Error 9 (SCSI timeout events) - why?

Sigh . . . . all in a days work.

JSF makes my day go by faster. :) I catch up on all the cool stuff I missed all week.

Yeah I hate my job that much too, but there are bills to pay.

I can remember making less than half what I do now and having all the bills paid. I wonder why I've almost tripled my salary and I'm still forking all my money to bills.

*Deep Breath* .... *slowly exhale and count to 10*.....

I work most Saturdays, though I don't have internet access at work. My body clock is such that I'm normally up and around by 6am even on weekend mornings, and there's not much else to do except go into work. Might as well pick up the overtime as it's there.

Starting in mid-July, I switch over to week-ends. I'll be working 8:00PM to 8:00AM. Its a desk job so I'll be doing a lot of surfing and catching up on the week's JSF threads.

I work weekends, but I prefer it. Nobody is in the office - nobody can bother me. I just sit and write code.

Considering my job entails solving seemingly nonstop logic problems, alone in the office with some tunes playing is the way to go.

Dave (is probably coming in tomorrow too)

I work for a video game developer. We are currently in crunch period. I have been working 6 days a week since Thanksgiving, and we might be 7 days through June.

Another Saturday :( At least it's cold, cloudy, and windy here. I don't mind being inside so much :tu:

Saturday worker here. I don't mind too much since I like having Sun/Mon off, but during college football season it really sucks. I have to record the games and then not listen to radio/read espn.com, etc so I don't find out who won. Today it is probably in the 80's with clear skies, so yeah, I would rather be laying out by the pool instead of sitting here surfing the day away...

I'm at my office this Saturday. It just so happens it's right here in the corner of my master bedroom! Seriously, if you don't like being at work on Saturday, change the situation. It's possible. Nothing wrong with an occupation you love and are passionate about ... when I was really into gaming, I'd be up Friday night through Saturday morning writing and testing code, and it was fine. When I was in IT, however, writing someone else's software for them, I was not too happy getting paged at 3 am on holidays to fix some bug. So, I changed the situation.

You are free to do it yourself ... most people don't because they can't, but simply because they are afraid to.

I heard this quote once, and I love it. I wish I could say who mentioned it, but they said, basically, "I never heard anyone on their death bed wish they worked more hours." Instead of "wishing" when it's too late, why not do something about it now?

The good news is, my boss is about to get transferred. My boss's boss told me yesterday I'll be getting his job when he goes. Know what that means??? Promotion + NO MORE SATURDAYS!!!!

I changed my situation! It's called HARD WORK! :tu:

On-call from Friday 5pm till Monday 9am this weekend. However, I'm currently at home, typing one-handed with number 1 son in the crook of my other arm.
On-call from home is just the business.

Andrew.

I'll be working all weekend. This is a long weekend for us as ANZAC day is Monday.

As well as my fulltime IT management position, I also have a small consultancy business that keeps me busy. Got bit of work to catch up on this weekend.

Cheers,

So for my first trick on this Saturday - I went around and counted the number of geeks with a Darth Tater on their desks - I found a total of 6.

Course - here I sit at my desk with my entire collection of Star Wars trinkets from Burger King....

Working Saturdays is so much fun.... I could just leap off the fourth floor.
