I asked a question about cooking with oils before but here is another one.

Can you cook chicken in something and then not eat the sauce and have it still be healthy... For example... If i put 8 oz of chicken ina suacepan that had 1 1/2 cups of salsa and 3 tbsp mustard in it... How bad would it be to go ahead and eat the chicken out of the sauce.. (still leaving a bowl full of sauce behind when I'm done)

I do this frequently and was wondering if it might aid or ease the process of fat loss. Thanks

just check how many calories are in the salsa. the mustard should have 0 calories.

i'd go ahead and eat the salsa, because it probably adds some fiber, since it's mostly vegetables.

as for fat loss, i can't see how it would harm it. just make sure you drink enough water, because some salsa has a lot of sodium in it.

Why not try and cook the chicken with a sliced tomato?... tomate is low on calories and as it is cooked it releases juice which can help and cook the chicken. Try that with some garlic cut in tinylittle pieces. :D I usually do that and I love it!!!

On a related note, I was reading a past issue of Men's Health magazine this morning and coincidentally I landed on a section where they give you quick ideas on how to cook chicken breast in 50 different ways, here (http://www.menshealth.com/cda/article/0,2823,s1-6-42-6-2409,00.html) is the online version of the article.

Because the serving sizes are tiny, so there is less than 1g carbs per serving, so they can call it zero calories.

A regular pot of mustard has something like 250kcal - still not bad considering how much most people use.

I think my mustard says something like 5 kcal per tsp, 50-something servings per pot.

Yeah, man. Definitely. Healthy food can and should taste good. Really, it's the only way you'll have longterm success whether you define success as a good body or a healthy (inside) body. It should really be both.
