It looks like Cookie Monster's days of throwing back platefulls of cookies are over. He isn't giving up cookies completely, he's just learned to enjoy them in moderation. Hey, it's something that all of us advocate. He even has a new song about how cookies are a "sometimes" food.

"We are not putting him on a diet," said his spokesman, Truglio. "And we would never take the position of no sugar. We're teaching him moderation."
Good for you Cookie Monster... but I can't help feel a little sad that his cookie slamming binges are thing of the past.

:D Ahhh, poor Cookie Monster. He should still eat cookies - isn't that what he lives off? He just needs to eat healthier cookies & join this Forum...

They should have a celebrity chef as a guest, showing cookie monster how to make healthy specialty cookies or something. No Emeril "Pork Fat" Lagasse, though. Maybe Alton Brown? I could see him appealing to kids because of his scientific approach to food. He's like the Bill Nye of the kitchen.

Do you guys think the other residents of Sesame Street will make disparaging comments about his new eating habits? Do you think that they'll have the, "Cookie, I'm worried about you..." discussion?
