I normally listen to Beastie Boys concerts while lifting.. or I have a few workout playlists, consisting of Aesop Rock, BB, and lots of old school like This or That, Humpty Dance, and Jump Around.

Disturbed, Linkin Park, Powerman 5000, Metallica -- anything heavier and/or with a faster tempo and perhaps a bit of screaming should get you pumped.

I used to have to have my pump-up music to the point where I could barely lift without it, hearing other's music (especially Dave Matthew's, Phish, and that stuff) would cause a major detriment to my workout, and more often or not I would give up if I didn't have any music. So, the moral of the story is to not become dependent on your music -- lift to a variety of genres and don't fret when you've forgotten it.

Any of your various heavy rock acts do it for me:

Every Time I Die - Hot Damn!
Norma Jean - Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child
Machine Head - Through the Ashes of Empires or The More Things Change
Mastodon - Leviathan or Remission
Snot - Get Some
He Is Legend - I Am Hollywood
Mod Flanders Conspiracy - Take a Ride on My One Wheeled Rickshaw

These are just the heavier albums.
As for single tracks:
Lostprophets - The Handsome Life of Swing
Glassjaw - The Motel of the White Locust
The Chariot - And Then, Came Then
Dry Kill Logic - Pain

As you can tell by the long post, I am a giant music addict. These are just the heavier acts that do the trick while in the gym.

Hmm, well I always tend to listen to more laid back type music when doing any strenous activities. I'd rather be calm and more concentrated then pumped up, which probably stems from my football kicking days. I normally listen to the likes of Ben Folds, Jack Johnson, Damien Rice, Beulah, Incubus, Neutral Milk Hotel, and basically anything with a slower and more controlled approach to music.

I beef up to:

NOFX
Rise Against - especially the song "Give it all", and "Like the Angels"
Bad Religion
Tsunami Bomb
The Vandals
Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies

Rise Against & NOFX friggin rules all!

you want real new punk rock.... listen to mindless self indulgence.

"MSI are, to me, how punk rock should sound in the 21st century: abrasive, brilliant, and sounding like no one else"--Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly).

"...one of the most creative and genre-swirling outfits on the scene"--Serj Tankian (System Of A Down)."

I listen to a lot of Linkin Park (w/ Jayz remix is really good to).. also Dave Matthews Band.. gotta love the live tracks that go on for 20 mins. And if I'm telling myself to stop or give up I flip on Tom Petty - I won't back down to get me going again.

EDIT:

Oh and I almost forgot.. AC/DC!

Does anybody else here listerns to Blind Guardian?... :D

I used to, along with Iced Earth, Stratovarius, Nightwish, and other power-metal. Good band, just not really my thing anymore - I do spin Nightfall in Middle Earth once in a while though, as well as Imaginations from the Other Side. Bright Eyes is a great track!

If you like Blind Guardian, Gila Monster, you may want to check out Demons & Wizards if you haven't heard them. It's Hansi (BG's singer) singing with Iced Earth's Jon Schaffer playing rhythm guitar. Typical power-metal fare, but very well done.

As for me, I get most pumped to is Killswitch Engage - Numbered Days. The starting shouts of "THE TIME APPROACHES" gets me jumping around swinging at shit that isn't there. Lamb of God - Black Label and It Dies Today - My Promise and Bloodstained Bed Sheet Burden. Also, Unearth - One Step Away. A ton of other stuff, but those are a few that stand out for me right now. Hooray for metal.
