Anybody feed their kids whey protein?
My 3 year old has developped a taste for protien shakes but not sure if it is OK, and its not easy to say no to a 3 year old :)

thx

In general it should be fine, but I keep my kids out of it. Usually it's full of artificial sweeteners as well. The whole food is always the best food for those little growing bodies!

I even saw one advertisment from AMWAY about protein shake.. They even suggested it for children to boost their protein intake, especially for those who woudn't eat normally (like my brother :o ). But like Savyart said, try to limit them on the shakes. Too much preservatives is bad, too much protein is worst. (Especially if they don't drink water). :tu:

I have to ask how feeding a kid protein is any different than feeding your kids fish or chicken? [edit: nevermind - the killer sweetners strike again - I always forget how toxic they've been to the mass population]

I don't encourage my kids to drink em - but if I am having one - I always share if they ask.

A piece of advice - learn to say no - it will make life a LOT easier later

My theory is to always try to get children to get all their nutrition met with a good variety of whole foods. But, that is just me! I still have to sell All The Whey products - but not to 12 and unders - ever.

I wonder why all of you who say it's bad for your kids still think it's fine to use them yourselves. :p
