I was hoping some of you could help me out with a little problem we have..
Just the other day, me and the rest of the family went off island (We're from Kauai, Hawaii) for a media production class excursion that my little sister had for the 3 days that we were there. We went there with her but she stayed with her tour group while we went on our own.
One evening we decided to eat out at a nice Japanese restaurant called "Tanaka of Tokyo". It was nice little experience especially having the chef cooking in flames and fancy tricks in front of us. While we were there, we met this very pleasant Japanese family, a man and his two daughters. We got a long well and we started talking about the japanese language (my brother and I started started a study of it) and about visiting Japan one day and the culture and so on. We were enjoying the talk so well that we sat there for quite a while even after we devoured the food.
At the end of the conversation, we exchanged addresses and phone # so that we could somehow contact each other and keep in touch. The man wrote his daughters names (I'm not sure why he didn't write his down, but fortunately my parents are able to remember it) as well as his address, office number and his occupation title. After it was all said and done, we said our goodbyes and our "Arigato's" and went our way. I happened to give the sheet of paper with their contact info on it to my brother.
Now as we were walking down Waikiki, I asked bro where he had put the paper. As you might guess, he did not have it with him! I checked my own pockets if I had it. Nothing there. I asked my parents but to no avail. This really concerned us in a way that you just won't understand. Now, you might just say that this is just a family you met in a restaurant, big deal. But it really isn't just that. I don't know about you, but it is one of those moments where you meet a group of people who just touch your heart in some way. They were such pleasant people.
What I wanted to ask you all was if you could suggest any way that I could contact them with the little information we have? As far as we know it, all we have in our memory banks are there names, the father's occupation and we know they live somewhere in "Chiba", Japan. These people were very kind and dear to us and we'd like them to know that we are thinking of them.
Thanks JS Forum members.
