I'm currently trying out a clean bulk with MAX-OT lifting. I was originally planning on a 40/40/20 split, but it's more in the ballpark of 42%/37%/21% Carb/Prot/Fat (average for the last week). Close enough, I don't mind about little things. My intake is approximately 2700-2800 calories, all clean sources.
My question is, is there any empirical evidence (or personal opinion if no evidence) on how many g/lb I should take in optimally? I recall numbers as low as 1g/lb a day (145g/day for me) and as high as 2g/day (290g/day). Logically, I know there has to be a point where too much is too much, and it will just be treated (simplified) as extra calories. I bet that some of you around here have noticed a ratio that works well, and after which increasing it doesn't help. If you can offer any insight, let's hear it. I'm all ears.
