My eyes are having a harder time focusing than normal, and my eyelids keep drooping like i am tired, but i'm not sleepy. I finished my workout nearly an hour ago and its not getting any better, anyone know whats going on?

No, but I would think about making an appointment with your doctor or go to a clinic or ER. Have you had any carbs since workout, it might be low blood sugar. Drink a coke
daydark March 21st, 2005, 10:51 PM yeah i drank some chocolate milk and felt alot better. I am mildly hypoglycemic and i'm wondering if my current diet (which contains very little sugar) might need to be changed. Do you think this could have been why this happend? Anyone else out there hypoglycemic and/or know much about it? I barely know anything about it myself!
rhyn March 21st, 2005, 11:48 PM You either didnt eat enough before hand or you just werent used to the stress you where putting on your body, I remember when I first started I worked same time as I do now and I had to stop half way and I felt like I was going to throw up when I lifted, now I can lift no problem, I used to feel light headed and dizzy and not be able to focus. Eating something always helped me or sitting down and drinking some water.
as for being hypoglycemic I think you should check google and adding a bit of sugar wouldn't kill you if you can find out how much you need.

When was the last time, you had your blood sugar checked, usually done at a physical? low blood sugar is often the precursor for the opposite hyperglycemic state. I am not a medical type, but as a type II diabetic, I have read about the effects of blood sugar. Don't ignore it, become aware.
What did the workout consist of?
daydark March 22nd, 2005, 03:42 PM it was cardio 40 minutes @ 170-180 heartrate, and then a full body HIT type workout (one set 8-12 reps). And i couldn't tell you the last time i had my blood sugar checked. I guess i should get that done and ask my doctor what he thinks about my current diet. Maybe i'll stop doing cardio and lifting in the same workout, i've seen some posts saying its bad.

I'm not an expert, but that looks like a pretty punishing workout to me. If your diet isn't spot on I'm not surprised your blood sugar dipped.

That would be a smart thing to do.
