I worked out 3 days ago on my triceps (I realize this gap between the two workouts isn't optimal. Usually I have a 4 or 5 day gap between reworking each body part, however, this week I was working out with my trainer so I didn't have much of a choice of when I did my tricep workouts).
Today is my triceps day, and they're still a bit sore. Should I always wait until they're fully recovered before going at it again? Or how does it typically work? I've just started working out recently, and I've heard that the doms in the beggining is much worse than the doms once you have worked out for a few weeks. Anyone able to comment on this?
Thanks in advance for any, and all help :)

You said "pretty sore" - so I'd think you should wait longer. There's always other stuff you can do. It sounds like maybe the work-out you had with your trainer may have worked them differently than your used to & therefore you may be a little raw, swollen & tender. At least you can move your arms - hopefully.
It'll get better in time & eventually it'll take more & more effort to make you sore. Make sure you get some good nutrition in the meantime to help recover.
If you were just still feeling them, in a good way - then I'd say go for it...

Appreciate the input :) I'm going to take a few more days off. I can't even reach my arm to scrub my back in the shower at the moment :(

I go to gym and then decide after I try some exercises. I find something to do besides nothing. It is rare DOMS would stop at least a partial routine. How did they get that sore, new exercise?

Yeah, sounds like your muscles are still in need of repair. No use going into the gym and breaking them down again before they've had time to recover. You'd only be doing yourself a disservice.
I think waiting until they are less sore is probably a good idea. I know others disagree, but I won't work a given muscle until the soreness is completely gone.

I just started working out recently. I haven't added any new exercises, however, I almost doubled my close grip bench press the other day.
